Experts from the University of Milan said that six out of ten people grieving saw or heard their deceased loved ones. However, most of them try not to talk about it, fearing that they will be mistaken for mentally ill.

According to the results of the study, from 30 to 60% of widowed women saw their deceased spouses or heard the deceased call them.

According to experts, even among those who do not suffer from mental disorders, there is a very high prevalence of hallucinatory experiences after bereavement.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Hayes, a specialist from Rohenptom University, reported that people who lost loved ones saw silhouettes, heard voices, felt touches and smelled smells. Many of those interviewed by Hayes told her about this. According to the expert, there is an assumption that the deceased, thus, ask for forgiveness for their departure from life.

A number of other studies are needed to elucidate the physiological origins of hallucinatory experiences, the researchers said, since this area is still poorly understood.

Along with this, scientists, explaining the hallucinations of people who have lost loved ones, do not exclude that there is life after death.
