The crews of six passenger planes saw a burning object, similar to an artillery shell, in the sky near Moscow. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that the means of airspace control, which the Russian military department has, did not record any anomalies in the Moscow region

As Interfax was told in the dispatch services of the Moscow air hub, at 19:40 on October 6, not far from the city of Gagarin, the crew of a Boeing 737-500 flying on the Novosibirsk-Moscow route reported that they had observed an outbreak in the form of a burning out projectile at an altitude of about 10 thousand meters with a smoky trail. A similar picture was observed at the same time by the crews of several more aircraft flying in the same area.

In particular, 80 kilometers west of the city of Gagarin, the crew of a Gulfstream aircraft observed a flash, accompanied by an audible signal. A similar picture was observed by the crews of the flights Moscow - Prague, London - Moscow and Moscow - Geneva.

Runet bloggers also noticed the phenomenon. The reasons and circumstances of the incident are being investigated. Meanwhile, the staff of the observatory of the Siberian State Aerospace University in Krasnoyarsk not so long ago predicted the beginning of heavy "rainfall" on the Earth in the form of a meteor shower.

Gosavianadzor experts believe that the light flash, which the pilots mistook for a burning out projectile, turned out to be a complex refraction of light

The Rostransnadzor Commission launched an investigation of an incomprehensible light phenomenon noticed a few kilometers from the capital, after 6 commanders of airliners immediately reported an object burning in the sky.

- We are carefully studying the information reported by the aircraft crews to the capital dispatchers, - told Life News in the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport. - At the moment, there is no exact conclusion about what the pilots observed.

Not far from Mozhaisk at about 19.30 on October 6, aircraft crews saw a bright flash at an altitude of 10 thousand meters, which looked like a shell burning out after an explosion.

Experts of Rostransnadzor have already made preliminary conclusions - for the explosion, the crews of the aircraft took the usual atmospheric phenomenon that does not threaten the flights of airliners.

“The weather conditions were very difficult that day, and the clouds also refract and enhance this effect,” explained the transport security experts. - It is necessary to involve meteorologists in the work. We can say with confidence that this did not threaten aircraft flights.

At the moment, experts are establishing the exact location of the glow in space, starting from the readings of the pilots and the angle at which the crews saw the flash.

Meteorologists called such an atmospheric phenomenon quite common for the weather, which was around 19.00 in the Moscow region.

- At this time over the Mozhaisk region, a cloudiness of 10 points was recorded - the whole sky was covered by clouds, - said the meteorologist of Roshydromet Raisa Kuderova. - It is quite possible that the pilots saw lightning - this is a common occurrence in such weather. However, flashes are rare at this altitude - it is too high.
