It is incredible, but 4,000 years before the birth of Christ, the Sumerians already knew that this Earth revolves around the Sun, but not vice versa. In other words, they were well aware that the Earth does not rest on the "humps" of elephants as a dry piece of land, from the edge of which one can fall, but is in outer space among other astronomical objects.
By the way, it was the Sumerians who divided the firmament into the twelve zodiacal signs familiar for our time, while apparently not at all doubting the habitability of distant stars. And one more interesting feature of the civilization of the ancient world: when in 1781 astronomers made the "first discovery" of Uranus and in 1930 the "first discovery" of Pluto - Sumerian scientists already knew about these planets and recorded the history of the planets.

It is amazing, but it turns out that science, starting from the Middle Ages, discovered for a long time and waited for the appearance of powerful telescopes, the priests of the Sumerian civilization understood at the time of the birth of their culture.
Sumerian scientists had a good idea of the structure of our solar system and owned the question that the planets Mercury (Mummu), Venus (Lahamu), Mars (Lahmu), the deceased Tiamat (in the past the fifth planet), Jupiter (Kishar), Saturn (Anshar), Uranus (Anu), Neptune (Ea) and Pluto (Gaga) - live in their orbits revolving around the central star - the Sun (Apsu).

Many of us have heard the troubling story of the mysterious planet Nibiru, and the galactic disaster that it can arrange with its appearance in our system. It was from the Sumerian chronicles that terrible stories about the planet Nibiru came out.
It remains unknown from what sources the Sumerians received information about Nibiru, there are no records or mentions of this, but the Sumerians wrote: 3.8 billion years ago, the edge of the solar system at high speed crossed a wandering space body called Nibiru. The speed of the object, according to researchers from NASA, who took the read plates as the source of information, was approximately 65,000 km / h!
Catastrophic changes in the solar system, judging by the records of the Sumerians, began when Nibiru came under the influence of the gravitational field of our star. Captivated by the gravitational forces of the Sun, the planet Nibiru has lost its own orbit of motion, occupying an unstable position in space.
She experienced the gravitational force of other planets, however, she herself had a strong influence on the calm course of the life of the planets - the time has come for terrible cataclysms generated by mutual gravitational influence.
In modern terms, a violent gravitational tsunami has broken out in the solar system - making the planets tremble in their orbits! - however, according to one of the versions of scientists, the described could be the time of intersection of the galaxy with the disk of dark matter.
Most of all in this universal apocalypse went to the planet Tiamat (now defunct planet number 5). The gravitational forces tormenting the planet caused tectonic processes that were unusually powerful and fatal for Tiamat, everything ended in a terrible explosion catastrophe - the planet burst into a couple of large parts and a bunch of small fragments.
One of the parts was still "lucky" and together with Tiamat's satellite, the Moon, it was thrown into a neighboring orbit, where a piece of the planet continued to coexist with the planet Earth. Everything else left over from Tiamat organized the asteroid belt, located between Mars and Jupiter - the Sumerians knew even about this asteroid swarm.
The very same "culprit" of planetary problems, the planet Nibiru also experienced the full horror of cosmic cataclysms, not least caused by the tragedy with Tiamat torn to pieces. Nibiru - also known as "X Planet" acquired a new orbit, where it took on the fate of the tenth planet far from the Sun.
The search for the planet Tiamat, the Titius-Bode rule
Someone may grin and say that the beautiful story told by the Sumerians is just another myth from the life of ancient people, and only Zeus from Olympus knows the truth about those times. Yes, perhaps these are the first fantastic stories.
However, in 1766 the German physicist and mathematician Johann Daniel Titius proposed, and his colleague and compatriot Johann Elert Bode supported and scientifically substantiated the now accepted pattern known as the Titius-Bode rule of thumb.
According to Titius-Bode's formulation, all the planets of our system are prescribed to be located at a certain distance from the Luminary - this is the "work" of the rule in action.
So, according to the laid down calculations and the accepted rule, between Mars and Jupiter there should be “planet number five” - Tiamat! - but according to the Sumerian chronicles, she was there!
The fidelity of the Titius-Bode regularity proposed by astronomers was clearly demonstrated by the finds of the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - and after all, before they were discovered visually, their existence was established precisely thanks to calculations according to the rule. When, in 1772, the astronomer Bode shared his findings and calculations with the scientific world, the planets had not yet been "officially" discovered by astronomers.
When, 9 years later, astronomers discover Uranus, exactly in the orbit where the Titius-Bode rule was prescribed for him, then all doubts have disappeared, the rule "works"! At the same time, scientists were seriously concerned about the issue of mythology, more precisely the existence of "planet number 5" - whose name is Tiamat according to the legends.
Planet number 5, Tiamat or Phaeton?
The existence of the planet Tiamat was widely discussed at the Astronomical Congress in 1796. Scientists determined to find "planet number 5" made great efforts in search of a mythological planet - after all, it had to exist according to a pattern - and everyone wanted to become its discoverer.
Surprisingly, on the first day of the new year of the 19th century, Italian space explorer Giuseppe Piazzi was lucky enough to discover the planet.
But to the great chagrin of the astronomer, it was not a planet at all, but a tiny body of small size, which was later named Ceres. Then in 1802 her "sister", Pallas, was discovered, and not even a couple of years had passed since Juno was found, and three years later, Vesta.
So astronomers managed to find out that between Mars and Jupiter, where, according to the rule of law, the orbit of the planet Tiamat must be - a bunch of asteroids rotate. And then a completely logical question arose - what was this asteroid swarm formed by?
Planet # 5 exploded! - again reminds him of what he had already said by the German astronomer Heinrich Olbers, who discovered Pallas and Vesta, thereby supporting the Sumerian mythology. He was the first to voice the hypothesis of a ruptured planet, which gave rise to an asteroid belt and other cosmic trash - that is, a scientist, an astronomer, confirms the Sumerian records.
Father's hijacked chariot - a galactic wreck
Yes, it was a time of discoveries and bold hypotheses, but only when Olbers announced the ruptured planet Tiamat, the scientific world knew very little about the Sumerian tablets and, accordingly, about the records of the past.
However, in enlightened Europe, illustrating the events of those years, a beautiful legend was retold about Phaeton, the hooligan son of the sun god. Allegedly, a mischievous child, without asking his father's permission, jumped into his golden chariot with a pair of fire-breathing horses, and rushed across the sky!
But, as always in such cases, he was unable to curb his father's fire-breathing horses. According to the legend, Phaethon could not keep the chariot control under control, and having lost control on his father's path, he burned all living things on Earth and died tragically, burned by a powerful lightning. Meanwhile, Phaethon's reckless actions led to a catastrophe on a cosmic scale …
After the statement of the astronomer Olbers, the name Phaethon was firmly assigned to "planet No. 5", but as it later turns out, the Sumerians knew this planet and called it Tiamat. And according to the Sumerian scholars, the misfortune with Phaethon-Tiamat came from the invasion of Nibiru.
- Attempts to find traces of the existence of Tiamat-Phaethon or the wandering Nibiru have so far been unsuccessful. But at the same time, in our system there is an “unaccounted for” object with a powerful gravitational field of planetary mass. For the first time, the automatic devices of the USA "Pioneer" and "Voyager" collided with a gravitational anomaly unrelated to the known planets.
In the 1980s, robotic spacecraft approaching the marginal regions of the solar system, unexpectedly for NASA specialists, went beyond carefully calculated flight paths. Researchers have identified the reasons for the violation: the influence of a powerful gravitational field from a large-mass object, the source of which lies behind Pluto at a distance of 50 AU.
- And again the disturbing question sounds, is it not the mythical planet Nibiru hiding there?
At least a couple of planets exist on the outskirts of the solar system, the researchers spoke a year ago, but back in 1997, American scientists confidently declared a planet (a small object) lying on the border of the system.
Perhaps this is the Sumerian Nibiru, which once caused a commotion on a planetary scale. In the 1970s, researchers even contrived to calculate the time when planet No. 5 died - about 16 million years ago. But the reasons for this disaster - except from the Sumerian clay tablets, are unknown.
What source of information did the scientists of the Sumerian civilization have?
An interesting hypothesis reveals the source of Sumerian knowledge. This is communication with the oldest alien civilization, which landed on Earth in ancient times. I must say that the very assumption comes down to the same death of Tiamat-Phaeton. The history of the events of those years was written live - by aliens, hence the knowledge of the Sumerians!
Once, the wandering explorers of the outer space of an alien race suffered a disaster. Their huge planet-like ship from all Mach crashed into the planet Tiamat and shattered it! In Europe, this story took root as Phaeton's unsuccessful ride in his father's chariot.
In reality, the myth of the celestial chariot is not far from the truth. It's just that in those days there was no such familiar word as a spaceship or interplanetary transport.
