While clearing a plot of the garden, a family of Scots found a stone head, which outwardly resembles the head of Homer Simpson, the hero of the popular American animated series The Simpsons

The stone head was found by Rosalind and Donald McIntyre in Fife. The similarity of the found sculpture with the head of a famous character can be traced without a doubt.

The couple took the find to the St Andrews Museum, from where it was sent to the National Carved Stones Committee of Scotland. The experts held a meeting, the main topic of which was the origin of the find, but they did not come to a general conclusion. Rosalind believes that the sculpture resembles the head of a gargoyle, the statues of which were previously placed on a church built in the 1200s. Carbon analysis of the find did not give an exact date, the experts only said that "it is very ancient."

The Scots couple admitted that the find has already become practically a member of the family. “There is no other word other than 'ugly' to describe this sculpture, but we are very attached to it. If we don't understand where it came from, it will drive us crazy and we will have to bury it in the garden,”said Rosalind.
