Former UK Defense Department official has already confirmed the authenticity of a new source of classified information, reports express.co.uk
The former US Navy officer, who claims his secret agreement with the US government has expired, has pledged to lift the veil on the 1,000 top-secret UFO files he knows.
The man, who says he was a third-class foreman at the Naval Telecommunications Center at NAS Moffettfield from February 1986 to October 1989, also claims that he may shed light on a mysterious mass UFO sighting involving military personnel in 1980 in the UK.
The officer has yet to reveal his name, but a former UK MoD UFO researcher confirmed to Express.co.uk that the man is the true source and created a flurry of unrest in the UFO hunter community about a possible disclosure.
Nick Pope, who was responsible for the Department of Defense's investigations into the UK's mysterious UFO incidents, including the Rendlesham incident, said: “I actually had a little personal contact with this man and I have no doubts about his dossier.

"It is clear from the language he uses and the information he provides that he is a real insider."

But Mr. Pope did not encourage the informant to give public, open testimony.
He added: "Since I have my own obligation to maintain secrecy, I cannot encourage anyone to divulge classified information without proper authority, I am obviously very interested in his story."
"I am especially interested in the details of the incident at Rendlesham Forest."
The Rendlesham legend has already been dubbed the "British Roswell".
The alien sighting in the UK came when three US officers at Bentwaters Air Force Base claimed to have seen a "triangular ship" that landed in the surrounding woods in the early hours of December 26, 1980.
This led to several UFO sightings that night, several books, and various conspiracy theories.
The person, who has not been publicly identified, claims that the US National Security Agency (NSA) and the UK government had a joint project to collect data on UFO sightings, including at Rendlesham, in 1980.
The UFO sighting disclosure movement has called on governments around the world to release all of their classified UFO files.
A former US National Security Agency official said: “I have personally processed, reviewed and submitted thousands of documents related to UFO / alien projects.
