He is the hairiest person on Earth, his body is 98% covered with thick black hair. The reason is a rare genetic disorder, congenital generalized hypertrichosis (increased hair growth), which is why the man was given the nickname The Wolf Man.

If Larry Gomez had been born more than 100 years ago, he would have become a world star, performing in the famous "freak circus" of Barnum. Nowadays, Gomez, who was born in San Bernardino, California, has found his calling in filming Hollywood films.

Larry Gomez was very upset that, in childhood and adolescence, other people teased and insulted him because of his hairiness. The anomaly was inherited by Gomez, and his relatives also have hypertrichosis. But this is a rather rare and therefore poorly studied anomaly, in the whole world there are no more than a hundred such people.

After Gomez started acting in films, he became more confident and even found a girlfriend. In 2011, he married Alicia Martinez.

Filmmaker Travis Hofle, who works for the YouTube channel 'Wizard of Odd TV', flew out of Chicago to meet the famous Wolf Man. He told reporters that three members of Gomez's family are also covered with hair and that this anomaly has spread over five generations of their family.

"Women have lighter and thinner hair, men coarse and black and cover more of the body."

Once a month, Gomez completely shaves all excess hair from his body, but it grows back quickly.

Promotional video:

"He's a very good person and loves to joke." - says Travis Hofle, - “He is also a very caring and good family man. His story as the Wolf Man is very inspiring and tells that life can be difficult, but you have to look for good moments in it every day."

Back in 2000, Gomez and three members of his family were included in the Guinness Book of Records as the hairiest family. One of those suffering from hypertrichosis is Larry's brother, Gabriel. In their youth, they even performed together in the arena of the Mexican circus, but then they decided that such work was not to their liking.

Larry is not Gomez's real name; he took the pseudonym after a character in the 1941 film "The Wolf Man". In 2011, Larry starred in the film Water for Elephants! Starring Robert Pattinson.

In 2007, Larry Gomez had a son, Michael. He himself did not inherit his father's hairiness, but who knows, perhaps he will pass this disease on to his children.
