Archaeologists actually came across artifacts that they did not believe in existence.

In the drawings that have survived to this day, scientists have noticed that the heads of some ancient Egyptians are crowned with small cones. They appeared especially often on images made 3-4 thousand years ago.

Until now, not a single "head cone" has been found. And scientists considered them to be a kind of myths - artistic additions that somehow distinguished certain depicted people, indicating their special status.

But recently, two cones were found at once, - reports the ScienceAlert portal with reference to the Antiquity magazine. They were found not separately, but together with the owners. One was worn on the head of a 20-year-old woman, the other on the head of a young man whose gender could not be determined. Both remains were recovered from graves located on the site of the ancient Egyptian city of Amarna, which was founded by Pharaoh Akhetaten in 1346 BC.

The cones were found to be hollow, made of beeswax and reinforced with linen fibers. Which greatly puzzled archaeologists. And it did not in any way clarify the function of these, if I may say so, headdresses. It is also not clear yet whether they were intended for the afterlife or for some reason they wore the cones during their lifetime. No written evidence has yet been found to clarify the situation. It is only known that the ancient Egyptians did not supply the dead with things that were completely useless in the next world. Therefore, the cones were very necessary items.

And what kind of cylinders are held in the hands of the representatives of the supreme power of Ancient Egypt

Strange objects of a cylindrical shape are present both on the statues and in drawings depicting the pharaohs and priests. None have been found yet. As it once was with the cones. Therefore, it will be even more difficult to answer the question about the purpose of these cylinders.

Cylinders could not be seals - seals were worn around the neck. These are not attributes of power either - they were long rods with a curved end. Tubes for storing papyri? Hardly. One tube would be enough. And there are always a pair of cylinders - one in each hand. They look like dumbbells, but it is unlikely that the pharaohs holding them were engaged in physical education.

Cylinders were not given to the dead - no similar objects were found in graves and burial chambers. So they were needed exclusively by the living. But why? Riddle. Better than cone hats.
