Why are they bringing up soldiers instead of geniuses in circles for babies?

The dangers of early development of children, all these endless circles on modeling, increasing intelligence and mastering languages from six months finally began to be loudly talked about. However, more often than not, experts conduct a conversation in soft tones: the child will not finish playing with his parents and will lose touch with them, he will get tired, lose motivation and skills of independence. Meanwhile, the problem of over-employment of children with various courses is much more serious. And excessive enthusiasm for them can be not only harmful, but also dangerous. Do you feel the difference? Eating pastries at night is harmful, but eating unfamiliar mushrooms is dangerous. So it is with early development.

In my opinion, the first and main danger of training for kids is their excellent camouflage effect. Let me give you an example from life. I know a family in which a child of one and a half years learned the names of many exotic animals: he knows a giraffe, a hippopotamus, a sperm whale, knows the brands of cars and even makes attempts to understand the types of dinosaurs. All this he is taught from six months on a special program. In his free time, parents study with him on cards, take him to circles. However, it turned out that the child had severe brain disorders. The fact is that he recognized animals only on specific cards. When he was presented with several books with author's illustrations, he could not even recognize a cat on them. The child thought that "giraffe", "hippopotamus" and "sperm whale" were the names of the cards. In fact it turned outthat the child has difficulty with abstract thinking and imagination.

This example illustrates a fairly common problem: parents believe that the key to successful development lies in constant employment. They study with the child all the time, the child demonstrates a wonderful memory. On this basis, parents conclude that they are raising a genius. In fact, their child is lagging behind in development.

Have you noticed that there are an order of magnitude more erudites than intellectuals? And that a good memory with a modest mind is much more common than it is with a brilliant mind? This is because remembering is much easier than thinking.

And to master the verbs of action "go", "stand", "sit" is easier than such words expressing personal needs as "drink", "eat", "write". It's even more difficult to remember "no". And it is already quite difficult - "yes". Thanks to the development circles, we have two-year-old children who know the entire atlas of the animal world by heart, but are not able to ask for a drink or say no.

Moreover, I met children who, when they were two years old, did not know how to smell or blow hot. Apparently, they were not given a fragrant crust of bread or a beautiful flower, saying “smell how delicious it smells”. Mom did not teach that you need to blow if you don't want to burn yourself with porridge. I met children who do not know the words “hurts”, “hurts”, even in the form of “bobo”. And it would be okay to talk only about neglected cases where families do not deal with children. No, there are such children among those who are constantly led to develop. Among the three-year-olds there are those who know several dozen or even hundreds of foreign words, but cannot dress, fasten Velcro, hang clothes on a hook and brush their teeth on their own.

You really need to play

People don't believe when they are told that a child learns through play. And he learns from loved ones. They do not believe that for a child of one and a half years more important than the "School of the Seven Dwarfs" is the ability to touch a cat, collect dust particles from the floor for two hours, smear himself in the mud and make his first snowball. They do not believe, because no one explains to them in a simple and accessible way, and our people are not used to trusting a priori statements. In 2013, the UN was forced to consolidate the right to play in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. The main objective of the amendment is to combat the commercialization of childhood, the over-employment of the child and the incompetence of parents.

Perhaps parents who do not leave their child free time from classes should read a little about the work of zoologists and ethologists. Those who study the fundamental laws of behavior in all living things. Then they learn that it will not be possible to release the predators, who from infancy grew up alone and did not have partners for the game. The famous zoologist Jason Badridze, during his work on raising wolves ready for an independent forest life in captivity, found out that wolves cannot hunt if they do not play with each other in childhood. Moreover, to play, they need the most difficult terrain. The cubs who were brought up by Badridze in an empty enclosure could not learn to hunt. They simply did not know how to predict along which trajectory the deer would run, at what speed it was necessary to intercept it. They could not organize a collective hunt, because none has learned to calculate their strength. But the cubs, who played catch-up with each other in the midst of rubble of stones, snags, imitation of the forest, grew into full-fledged wolves and managed to master the hunt. The more intelligent the animal is, the more important it is to play in childhood.

And as a child, we really need a game. You need an opportunity not only to play, but also to play enough. Until tiredness, until satisfaction. This is especially important for children with creative potential.

And instead of an artist, you get a soldier …

The second dangerous effect of early development circles in their regime. All sorts of "creative" activities, modeling circles for one-year-olds, finger drawing lessons for one and a half-year-olds are extremely depressing. At this age, this activity should be free. Recently, in one popular Internet community dedicated to early development, parents discussed the problem: how to get a child to finish modeling or drawing lessons by the hour, how to make sure that he does not later run around the house with modeling mass and smear paint on the wallpaper. Children are one and a half years old, and they are already being made soldiers with the regime. But the fact is that creativity does not happen by the clock. Even the Soviet authorities understood this. She could not drive writers, poets, musicians, painters, sculptors and others to work from call to call. But she also did not dare to leave them publicly not working - this would be a blow to the entire Soviet labor ideology. Therefore, various creative unions have been invented in the country. They were created not only to control the intelligentsia, but also to disguise their unemployment. Even Stalin understood that an artist would not work by the clock. And our young mothers don't understand.

Today, creative professions have acquired tremendous prestige, because for the first time, perhaps in the history of mankind, free labor, the opportunity not to have a boss, the right to dispose of one's own time were openly declared a value. Society has always envied people of the liberal professions, but only now has it begun to do so openly. Russian parents are divided into three equal groups: some want to make officials out of their children, others - successful scientists, and still others - a creative elite.

Want to develop your child's creativity? Don't limit him to the rush of drawing. And in any other impulse. Contrary to common opinion, artists are not those with whom they regularly study from the cradle, but those who had the opportunity to put dust particles collected from the floor in a box for half a day, who kneaded the dirt with their hands or enthusiastically caught grasshoppers in the grass. Because these children have developed motor skills, imagination and the feeling of carried away impatience is familiar to them.

Children who, instead of a free walk, paint blots on command in the company of random people, are not familiar with any of this.

Your child will be taken care of by vocational school graduates

The third danger faced by a child assigned to early development school is the low competence of teachers. As a rule, young graduates of pedagogical or psychological universities work at best. There are many teachers with secondary vocational education. Or even without specialized education. The truth is this: if you have a higher education, if your career allows you to spend thousands, or even tens of thousands of rubles a month on classes with a child and educational toys, you are probably more developed than a pedagogical college student working in a studio for toddlers. And, therefore, communication with you will bring more benefits to the child. I watched classes in several circles. And I watched a lot of amateur videos from such studios all over Russia: alas, but often teachers speak with monstrous mistakes, vernacular, adhere to outdated practices. Moreover, in mugs and playrooms there are more often cheap monotonous toys and cheap handouts: plastic, bright colors. There are toys that the International Game Association has called oppressive: all kinds of talking animals, singing microphones, crimson giraffes and pink lions. With such teachers and with such toys, the child only degrades.

Frustrating learning

Worse than classes on plastic kalabashki with a 20-year-old student for a child can only be educational television.

I must say that the Western world has already experienced a boom in the popularity of educational videos for the little ones. So, since 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under two years old not show any films. Canada and Great Britain declared war on developing video long ago, where the volume of the market for these products by the end of the 2000s was estimated at billions of dollars. Videos for children 0+ are built according to the clip type: bright pictures quickly replace each other, loud sounds periodically go. This makes the baby fascinated to watch what is happening on the screen. An interesting analysis of such a film is published by the Center for Psychological and Pedagogical Expertise of Games and Toys, M. V. Sokolova. One series of films for children “I can do anything” was taken, allegedly based on the “Imagine-Imagine-Transform” method. It turned outthat a 20-minute film contains 160-170 episodes for 70 plots on each selected topic. At the same time, the news program, for example, offers 70-90 stories and five to seven topics in 30 minutes.

The British Association of Pediatricians called the video for babies deeply dangerous: it frustrates the child, negatively affects the development of the brain, spoils the vision, and, most importantly, deprives the child of useful communication with adults. Educational videos for children depress his psyche, fantasy and ability to concentrate. If you put your child in front of the TV, there is only one benefit - you get your own free time. The child does not receive enough games, communication with parents and with himself.

The right to loneliness

Yes, yes, a child of the first years of life should be able to play enough and communicate with himself. Loneliness is extremely important for a child. Because it is in solitude that his fantasy and imagination begin to work. A child who is busy all the time, all the time in full view of his parents, peers, teachers, does not have the opportunity to think. Children who are not busy with themselves are immediately obvious. Believe it or not, they speak worse, think slower, invent less.

That he should start communicating with strangers as early as possible. As a result, parents believe that their child will have little contact with thirty randomly selected people eight hours a day, five days a week. They begin to take the child to courses from six months, ostensibly to establish communication skills. If a child is lucky and does not even go to a nursery, then from the age of one and a half, instead of a nursery, he will be taken to circles. To learn and socialize.

The smaller the child, the less needs he has for communication and the more important it is for him to be alone and in a familiar environment.

Those who deprive their child of the right to play alone run the risk of raising a child not just mediocre, but also lagging behind in development. That such a child will not have the will, independence and interest in life is still half the problem. It is much more scary that communication overload, regimen and strict classes can affect the child's ability to think, reflect, imagine. He will know from the pictures all the flags of the world and all the animals of the savannah, but he will not figure out what to do when he gets lost in the store.

If you want to raise your child smart and creative, give him time to be free. For laziness. For doing nothing. At least up to ten years. If you need an executive soldier with a head full of information, like sawdust, it's time to enroll in development circles.
