But what if the rumor goes not about one fly, but a whole fly swarm? The answer is obvious - a person will have at his disposal the most powerful biological weapons with controlled delivery vehicles. Such a fly swarm can be directed to food depots or directly to the enemy army. At the same time, it will be extremely difficult to bring charges against anyone in this case, since there will be no direct evidence.
This thought did not arise out of nowhere. History knows such cases. In the Spanish-American War of 1898, the American army suffered the greatest damage not from the Spanish military, but from infected flies. Typhus killed many more soldiers than enemy fire. But then it happened by human will, but if you learn to control such forces, then the consequences will be unpredictable.
And if no one dares to use flies with anthrax spores, then cyborg cockroaches are a completely different matter. Scientists have already tried to put red cockroaches at the service. This insect was not chosen by chance, since it has significant combat potential. The cockroach is small and mobile, it leads a secretive lifestyle. He is strong, omnivorous, able to survive in the most adverse conditions. Given that this creature is more like a ninja than an insect, scientists have chosen it on him. An idea arose to implement a project at the intersection of computer science, biology and electronics.
Currently, the South American State Fund has begun funding a project by a group of scientists who are to create a cyborg cockroach. Initially, the idea was to create a robot in the likeness of a cockroach, but it turned out that modern technologies are not yet able to recreate this seemingly primitive creation. In addition, a project like this required incredible money and energy sources. At the same time, a live cockroach does not require any funds. By this time, small radiation sensors have already been developed that can be installed on the back of a cyborg cockroach. The operator will control each red cockroach using a computer and a microchip located on the insect. Such "brigades" will be actively used to search for explosives, radioactive materials, and weapons of mass destruction.
While skeptics laughed at cyborg cockroaches, the Pentagon decided to combine the fighting insects into a Wi-Fi-based computer network. Such a principle will allow the transfer of information from one insect to another and, ultimately, to the person controlling the operation.
