The National Interest magazine has listed five submarines capable of destroying the world in 30 minutes. Three of these military vehicles are Russian, the other two are American.
The author of the article compiled a list of nuclear submarines that are already in service with the Russian Navy and the US Navy or will soon be put into service. It is emphasized that older models such as the Soviet submarines of Project 941 "Akula" are not considered, since most of them have already been decommissioned.
The rating included submarines of project 955 "Borey", which the publication calls "the quietest submarines with ballistic missiles", as well as submarines of project 667BDRM "Dolphin" and submarines of project 885M "Yasen-M". The latter, the author of the article believes, can get close to the east coast of the United States for two thousand kilometers and from this distance hit targets up to the Great Lakes.
Among the American submarines in this selection were the Ohio-class submarines and the new Columbia-class submarines, which are expected to be built next year and enter service in 2031.
The publication notes that some of the submarines included in the list are so powerful that one of these combat vehicles would be enough to "erase into radioactive ash" 288 targets the size of the city.
"Indeed, these machines and their military equipment could destroy civilization in less time than it takes to order pizza if the third world war began," the author of the article writes.
