In several parts of our planet, there are places where strange sounds of unexplained origin are periodically heard. Those who heard them talk about mystical anomalies, cinematographers shoot science fiction films, and scientists are trying to find explanations for the next mystery of nature. The most famous such place is the American city of Taos.

In the southwestern United States, New Mexico, residents of the city of Taos have witnessed unexplained low-frequency noise for decades from the desert. Taoist hum is reminiscent of the sound that a heavy vehicle might make driving on a highway. However, there are no roads of a similar size near the city.

This phenomenon is almost the most famous natural anomaly. At the initiative of the US Congress, a special commission consisting of scientists was created to study the Taos hum. However, despite the research conducted, no one has been able to find a scientific explanation for the strange noise.

One of the features of the noise in Taos is the fact that it is mostly heard by locals. Moreover, visitors are extremely rare. In this regard, some scientists have put forward one of the theories to explain the sounds of nature. According to this theory, people living in noise areas have a unique ability to hear low-frequency sounds. There is another such explanation, which is called spontaneous otoacoustic emission. This sound is generated in the human ear, and only a third of the people on the planet can hear it. The ability to hear emissions, which is similar to a quiet ringing or humming sound, is found in people with a specific condition of the inner ear.

The geophysical theory explaining the Taoist rumble states that such sounds are often heard in ultra-deep drilling sites. In this case, the hum comes from the movement of the lithospheric plates, which lie in the deep layers of the earth. Thanks to such noises and their observation, seismologists can predict the coming of the next earthquake.

Another interesting theory is the relationship between Taos noise and global warming and, as a result, glacier melting. True, the emerging crackling that accompanies the process of breaking the bond between hydrogen atoms is barely audible. Even special equipment is not able to fix it. But in the case when the number of such gaps becomes several million or billion, they are accompanied by approximately the same hum that can be heard by residents from different parts of the planet.

Ocean waves have a similar ability to be heard over fairly long distances. Researchers have studied these processes and have also found infrasonic noises. It turned out that when two waves collide in the ocean, a whole series of such noises is formed that can spread throughout the planet.

One of the most fantastic hypotheses about the Taos noise belongs to the believers in the approach of the apocalypse. They believe that the mystical drone is nothing more than a harbinger of the approaching end of the world. There are those who, on the contrary, do not believe at all in the existence of this anomaly. The most skeptical people think the Taoist Noise is just a clever publicity stunt. They suggest that due to the topic of the end of the world, which is now exciting for many, the filmmakers decided to create another reason to make films on relevant topics. And this opinion also has a right to exist.
