The workers, who found her in the bushes on the playground, claim that the rodent was the size of a four-year-old child, and they have never seen anything like it in their life.
The British media published a photo in which one of the utilities poses with the corpse of a giant rodent in the courtyard of a multi-storey building. The author of the photo, 46-year-old gas engineer Tony Smith, noted that the rat's body was four feet (1.2 meters) long and weighed about 12 kilograms.
“I have a cat and a Jack Russell Terrier. This rat was bigger than both of them put together,”admitted Smith. According to him, the corpse of a huge rodent was thrown into the trash can, but first they decided to photograph an unusual animal - for those who do not believe in giant rats.
Smith said that the house where he and a friend worked was full of rats. Garbage containers are not closed there, so rodents do not experience a lack of food. The poison turned out to be ineffective: the rats calmly eat it too.
Local housing and communal services workers believe that the authorities do not want to sow panic among residents, so they keep silent about the problem of mutant rats.
