When the film The Matrix was only released in 1999, viewers of that time could not even imagine how it would become an ubiquitous phenomenon in society. "Red and blue pills" are used today in the languages of the whole world, as speech patterns understood by all.

Today, the Matrix is popular and relevant no less than 20 years ago, although in fact it is even much more.

In 1953, the Church of Scientology was created by Ron Hubbard & Co., which at that time was perceived as a joke by citizens in robes. Now the Church of Scientology has 3,200 communities, missions and groups in 154 countries, and no one counted the number of Ron Hubbard's followers at all. Many people today share some of his ideas, although they have not heard anything about Scientologists, let alone Hubbard.

But time goes forward and the world is already openly discussing the cult of AI. Google has already blessed many with holy augmetics, but there are more and more cultists and they demand more and more new implants, because only shiny chips on the skull will save the adepts from the curse of the flesh.

Soon even the priests will shave off their beards, begin to overshadow themselves with the sign of the Holy Gear, sing information hymns and agitate in the Information Crusades.

In general, the Matrix in the era of AI and robotics is becoming more and more relevant. And one of the most mysterious and philosophical scenes in this film is the "red woman" episode, through which Morpheus tries to explain to Neo how the Matrix works globally.

In this episode, Neo, while practicing virtual reality, distracts his gaze on a woman in a red dress who stands out from the dark crowd.

When Neo, starting to follow the woman, turns his head, he turns, but instead of the blonde he sees the Agent, who has already directed the loaded barrel straight into his forehead:

In this scene, there is not one, but several layers of deep symbolism at once, the most superficial of which is the obvious parallel between the Matrix, built by AI to collect electrical energy from people, and the modern system of global society, in which the principle of operation is largely the same.

In Greek mythology, Morpheus (Μορφεύς) was the messenger of the gods who penetrated the dreams of mortals and shared with them knowledge or hidden messages with people. Although Morpheus could take any form, his message and mission were always the same. In other words, he was a messenger of truth.

Neo in ancient Greek means young or new. When Neo first appears in the film, he absolutely does not know what the Matrix is. In addition, he is also fast asleep while searching the Internet for Morpheus. Therefore, Neo, as it were, personifies the mind of babies who are blind, who are constantly distracted and who are trying to find some support for themselves in the world.

In the scene with the woman in the red dress, Morpheus explains all this to Neo. But then a woman in a red dress appears, who distracts Neo from the lesson and puts him face to face in front of the Agent. Thus, this woman is, as it were, a collection of all kinds of distractions, whose task is to interrupt the process of assimilating certain truths. That is, as soon as people begin to look beyond the illusion of the outside world, first a woman in red appears, and immediately behind her - Agent Smith.

The system of global control of people is, in fact, the same Matrix. People are in it, as if in capsules, separated by borders, languages, social status, political views and even the names of their favorite football teams. And the woman in red is a distraction that everyone can personally have, from the degenerate boss at work to the desire to pour alcohol into himself. But the global woman in red is global television. And when it starts to flicker there actively - wait for the Agents to come on stage.
