Authoritative astronomers are convinced that the Earth may well become flat. But this is possible only if our planet begins to make one revolution around its axis in less than 4 hours.
Scientists made the corresponding conclusions after studying the dwarf planet Haumea located outside the orbit of Neptune, which, unlike many cosmic bodies in the solar system, has a flat shape.
The space object studied by specialists is strongly elongated at the equator and rather flattened from the poles. According to planetary scientists, the ratio of the axes of this dwarf planet is 2 to 1.
Haumei is very different in shape from other planets due to its speed. This cosmic body is currently considered the fastest-rotating object in the solar system.
A study by scientists has shown that this dwarf planet makes one revolution on its axis in just 4 hours. That is why experts believe that if the Earth begins to rotate at the same speed, then its equator will also flatten twice at the poles. That is, in this case, our planet will change its shape and become the way our ancestors imagined it - flat.
