Three stones of the correct spherical shape weighing from 10 to 40 kg of unknown origin were found in the face of the Mokhovsky open-pit mine (a branch of JSC MC Kuzbassrazrezugol) and handed over to the Kemerovo Regional Museum, the company's press service reported on Tuesday. “Those exhibits that Kuzbassrazrezugol gives us are practically nowhere, except for sections, are found. And due to the fact that the company employs caring people, the museum can present such rare finds to a wide circle of the public, - quoted by the press service of the Deputy Director for Research of the Kemerovo Regional Museum of Local Lore, Olga Vladimirova.

The diameter of the balls varies from 25 to 50 cm, the weight is from 10 to 40 kg. According to preliminary estimates of experts, stones are mineral formations in sedimentary rocks. Scientists will be able to give a more accurate answer about the origin after conducting a study. As reported, in March 2015, Kuzbassrazrezugol handed over to the museum of local lore the Karakansky disk, found at the Mokhovskoy open pit, a stone resembling a UFO, whose age, according to scientists, may be 260 million years. In the same year, the company donated to the museum fragments of fossilized trees - the same age as dinosaurs that grew on the territory of modern Kuzbass in the Permian period - 280-245 million years ago.

In addition, the remains of a prehistoric cave lion, a subspecies of the modern lion, which became extinct about 10 thousand years ago, were also found there. At the same time, the age of the bones is more than 30 thousand years, they are perfectly preserved and are currently in the funds of the museum. Kuzbassrazrezugol is the second largest coal mining company in Russia, developing 17 deposits in Kuzbass. The company includes coal mines in the status of branches "Kedrovsky", "Mokhovsky", "Bachatsky", "Krasnobrodsky", "Taldinsky" and "Kaltansky", as well as the Baikaimskaya mine.
