In parapsychology, there is such a term as pyrokinesis. People with the ability to control fire have always evoked awe and horror among ordinary people. The ability to set fire to objects at a distance, or at one glance to heat various surfaces to the temperature of burning or melting is a gift that not many personalities have.
In addition to pyrokinesis, such people can move objects with the power of thought, without even touching them with their hands. A similar phenomenon is described in the novel by S. King "Kerry". The heroine of the book unexpectedly discovers in herself the gift not only to manipulate the minds of people, but also to set fire to or move objects with just one glance. Most often, paranormal abilities are manifested in people in childhood, and they reach special strength in adolescence. This is exactly what happens to Carrie, the heroine of the book. Parapsychologists associate this with the rapid hormonal changes in the body. Together with hormones, the “subtle, mental” body also begins to rage. Abilities can manifest spontaneously and are difficult to correct. With age, a person can either completely lose his gift, or learn to control it.
An uncontrolled release of energy can harm both others and the "super" person himself. At the moment of the release of a powerful heat charge, a person endowed with the ability to pyrokinesis can incinerate himself.
Conventional science questions this phenomenon. The doctrine argues that "over man", heating the environment, comes into contact with it, which means that his body temperature also rises from the heat. One can only imagine what the physical shell has to do with such “fiery overloads”.
But parapsychology believes that such a phenomenon is quite possible. And it should not be confused with cases of the so-called "spontaneous combustion". History knows many examples when people literally in a matter of minutes were engulfed in flames of unknown origin. Only in the last XX century there were about 20 such cases.

Indian yogis and Tibetan monks can not only easily slow down their breathing and heartbeat, but also regulate their body temperature.
Many have noticed that there are people from whom waves of heat literally emanate, like from a red-hot blast furnace. These people seem to fill the world with their energy. It seems that from their gaze, all living things around them melt. And this is by no means a figurative expression. It happens that we "behind the head" feel in the crowd someone's gaze. As if warmth pierced from head to toe. This is the effect of such a “fiery gaze”. Its owner may not even be aware of his abilities, but they are. It is not for nothing that there is an expression "to burn with a gaze" - it is about such a thermal, peculiarity of the human gaze that we are talking about.
Uncontrolled pyrokinesis is a dangerous and destructive force that can cause not only material, but also moral harm. The heroine of S. King's novel eventually dies, unable to cope with the raging flame of her abilities. In real life, this also happens.

This story took place in one of the quiet areas on the outskirts of Moscow. Firefighters are people, by virtue of their profession they are far from mysticism. Their daily job is to save lives. But one incident shocked even many who had seen the firefighters. For several days, the fire brigade went to the same apartment. The reason is a fire in a small area. Following, interrogators came and did not find any criminal or other facts. The wiring in the apartment was in order, there are no traces of combustible materials. But the curtains were constantly burning in the apartment, door frames and carpets on the camps and on the floor were charred.
Irina in those years worked as a press secretary at the local fire department. Several times she, together with the brigade, went to the apartment to fix the consequences of the fire. The apartment was ordinary, but the inhabitants of the house seemed strange to her. An elderly couple with a teenage grandson lived in it. When Irina saw the boy, she literally lost the gift of speech: an icon-painting face, huge blue eyes. The child's gaze was turned somewhere inward.
When the teenager looked at those around him, he seemed to see nothing that could catch his attention. He was detached from the world. Irina asked his grandmother and grandfather where the teenager's mother was. The old men hesitated. Finally, the older woman confessed. Their daughter was mentally ill. Irina advised the elderly to show the child at least to a psychologist. But they were relentless. They have already made a decision: next academic year they will send Misha away from the city, to a monastery. There, under the watchful eye of the monks, all "devilry" will come out of him. Irina was horrified: how can you do this with your own grandson? To this, the old men replied that they had not done this to his mother in vain. After all, they saw in her a "demonic" power, and they had to send her to "cure" in the monastery walls earlier. This story impressed Irina very much, she could not believe that in our enlightened age, people can behave in this way. The boy certainly had unique abilities that needed to be controlled, studied and developed. And his grandfather and grandmother, having killed their daughter, were going to do the same with their grandson!
Irina shared with Oksana the result of the conversation. The journalist was very upset. She said that no one can influence the decision of the guardians. The gloomy fate of a novice at a monastery is destined for a unique child. There certainly no one will study his abilities.
Several months passed and the calls to the "bad" apartment stopped. Irina asked her colleagues if they knew anything about this family. The interrogators said that the boy was taken away from the city by his grandparents. From that moment on, spontaneous fires in the apartment were no longer repeated. Irina and her friend, the journalist, did not manage to find out anything about the further fate of the teenager. Most likely, he was indeed sent for "re-education" to an Orthodox monastery. Human ignorance and fear of the incomprehensible often cripples the life of gifted people. The child, whose abilities needed to be studied, did not receive support from loved ones, and for the rest of his life he received the stigma of "fiend of hell."
