Officials at PUPR in Bali cannot explain the death of thousands of birds at Karangasem in Bali.
The birds are most likely suffocated by the gas and steam that is currently being released from the crater of Agung Volcano.
Indonesian authorities are bewildered by the sudden death of thousands of birds in eastern Bali.
Officials are reluctant to explain and confirm that these birds falling from the sky are most likely victims of volcanic and seismic disturbances from Mount Agung and convince the frightened population that this rain is responsible for the mass extinction:
“We do not yet know for sure whether this is due to volcanic gases or not. We are far from Gungung Agung. Poisonous gas exists in volcanic emissions. It is possible that high levels of sulfur and carbon dioxide in the air led to the apocalyptic extinction of the mass of birds. But heavy rains can also be the culprit."

Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated from the area around Mount Agung as hundreds of volcanic earthquakes have been recorded in one day.
The Bali volcano could erupt at any moment if such seismic disturbances continue.
