In the Chinese province of Sichuan, an animal was caught, which, according to local legends, is a bear, once a man. This is reported by The Daily Telegraph with reference to one of the hunter who found him
Confused local biologists are about to ship the animal to Beijing for DNA analysis.
The publication quotes the words of one of the residents of the province who caught the Yeti. According to him, the animal slightly resembles a bear. It lacks fur, but has a "kangaroo-like" tail. The hunter also said that the animal makes sounds similar to a cat's meow.
At the same time, researcher Lauren Coleman, author of more than 30 books about mysterious animals, claims that this find is clearly not unique. “If it sounds like a cat, then it must be a cat,” Coleman said. The International Museum of Cryptozoology, founded by him in November last year, located in Portland (Maine, USA) contains about 150 scalps and footprints of "snowmen" and other mysterious creatures. In his opinion, the Chinese find is either an Asian branch of a civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus, a genus of carnivorous mammals), or the Himalayan palm civet (Paguma larvata), the scientist told The Christian Science Monitor.
