Among the new discoveries is the sarcophagus of Puyo, a woman believed to have lived during the 18th Dynasty, French archaeologists explained in a statement. The sarcophagus was opened on November 24, 2018 in front of international media, previously such a practice was not welcomed.
The second sarcophagus contained the remains of Ottawa-Irhet-If, the priest who led the embalming of several pharaohs at the Temple of Mut at Karnak.
In addition, it is reported that the researchers also discovered a number of mummies inside the tomb that were not placed inside the sarcophagi. According to experts, it is possible that these mummies could belong to the same family.
