Betty and Barney Hill of Portsmouth, New Hampshire claim they were abducted by aliens on September 19, 1961.
After that, Betty drew a map, where she indicated the exact place from where these aliens came to Earth. Scientists, of course, did not take her words seriously and only laughed at the map. They stated that there was no constellation similar to that shown in Betty's drawing. It really was not even close to any other star formation known at that time.
And now, years later, a statistician has noticed that the double star of the Zeta Reticulum is an exact reflection of the star in Betty's drawing. He came to the conclusion that the alien abduction really happened.
Betty and Barney said that they were driving along a street in Lancashire, New Hampshire, when they noticed a strange oval-shaped flying object approaching from the south, which then hovered right over their heads.
After that, several "humanoids" appeared and watched them through the illuminated window of the ship. And one last memory: several creatures stood in the middle of the road, blocking Betty and Barney's path.
The next thing they could remember was how they ended up in their home in Portsmouth. At first, none of the spouses could remember the details of that evening - according to them, three hours had been erased from memory completely.

However, before her death in 2004, Betty said something she had never said before:
“We were taken aboard the ship. They put me in one room and Barney in another. The one who examined us called himself the Examiner. First they sat me down on a stool and began to examine my eyes, ears, nose, throat. After that, they put me on the table and said that they were going to examine my nervous system.
They tried to insert some kind of needle-like instrument into my navel, but it hurt and they stopped. With Barney, they did about the same thing, only in his case they were more interested in bone structure."
In addition, before her death, Betty recalled a conversation with the "Leader", during which she asked where the aliens were from.
“I said that I knew they were not from our planet and asked where they were from. He showed me the star map and on it the place where they came from."
Under hypnosis, Betty reproduced this map: it had twelve large stars connected by lines and three smaller stars forming a triangle. She said that the stars connected by solid lines represent "trade routes" and the dotted lines represent less popular interstellar routes.

Mathematical statistician David Saunders believes that the star of the Zeta Grid is at the center of the key structure of Betty's drawing. In his opinion, the probability that a woman reproduced the real-life arrangement of the stars by chance is zero. That is, Betty was telling the truth.
Saunders is convinced that such information Betty could only have received from aliens.
Other bizarre pieces of evidence related to the alleged abduction include Betty's torn dress and a strange pink powder on her body, the origin of which experts have never been able to figure out.
Strange glowing circles were found on the trunk of the spouses' car, and when the compass was brought up to them, the arrow began to rotate without stopping.
For some time after the abduction, the couple suffered from nightmares and symptoms of severe stress. Barney even needed medical attention. Doctors examined the couple, and Dr. Benjamin Simon conducted several hypnosis sessions with them. It was then that the story of the "abduction" surfaced.
Later, the memory began to return, and the couple began to remember the details of their "adventure".
Another amazing drawing was drawn by Barney - he tried to convey the appearance of his captors. This drawing became the first known "non-fictional" depiction of an alien.

Barney died on February 25, 1969, at the age of 46, from an intracerebral hemorrhage. Betty believed that her husband's premature death was related to the stress experienced during the abduction.
