The train was originally designed for the NBC television series Supertrain, a crime drama starring stars on board the train. In total, three models were used in the filming - life-size, reduced and very small.
NBC aired nine episodes of the series. The filming turned out to be difficult and record-breaking expensive for the time, but the series itself suffered a loud failure. TV Guide put him on the list of "50 Worst TV Shows of All Time" that no one wanted to watch beyond the first episode. In addition, one of the insanely expensive models went off the rails in a serious accident.
Many thought that the series was created under hallucinogens - its delusional scenario cannot be explained otherwise. On the train, conspiracies were constantly discussed, in which heiresses, jewelry thieves and killers participated. In one episode, the main character is a presidential candidate killed by his twin brother.
