Erick John Rwabirire, 17, was born with a rare bone anomaly that affects only one in a million people. Because of this, a huge tumor began to grow on the bones of his head, which threatened to kill him.

In 2015, the teenager flew to the UK, where surgeons were able to remove a tumor from his face. However, after a course of operations, the insidious disease returned and the tumor grew again. This time the boy could not survive.

At the age of three, Eric had a football-sized tumor on his head and continued to grow.

His family's hope of saving the child was tiny, but it came when the UK underwent 24-hour surgery to remove a tumor in 2015.

Together with the tumor, doctors removed part of his skull and replaced his jawbone. After that, the teenager had to go through a series of reconstructive operations.

Doctors note that the boy was strong in spirit and hoped for the best. He really wanted to live. Unfortunately for everyone, he died a few weeks before returning home to Uganda in 2016. It turned out that the tumor began to grow again at an alarming rate and the child's body could no longer cope with it.
