They turned out to contradict the currently accepted theory of the historical development of mankind.
What is unusual about the find

However, according to a number of signs, as they considered, the find belongs to an earlier date of manufacture. Therefore, it is difficult to indicate the time of its manufacture and its original location.
Deposits on the stone, corrosive changes and the age of the rock itself indicate that the item was made much earlier than the 18th century. The size of the find does not exceed the size of a matchbox, and the multiple depressions in it are clearly made with the use of technological means, which is surprising even for the 18th century, especially for the later period.
The find is unique, says archaeologist N. Vasilieva, who participated in the excavations when a mysterious object was discovered. Such a thing was not found not only on the territory of the Vologda region and on the territory of the country in general, it can be argued that world archeology has encountered such a subject for the first time.
To determine the exact age and purpose of the artifact, he was sent for laboratory research. Since then, however, he has been safely forgotten. Archaeologists are sure that this is due to discoveries that have been made and which have so far decided not to disclose. It is quite possible that the conclusions contradict the generally accepted and well-established information currently available to most people.
