A video has been posted on the Internet in which scientists have tried to show how the melting of all Arctic glaciers can affect the planet itself and its population. In their opinion, the consequences of this may become similar to the Apocalypse.
A factor called global warming is now being noted across the planet. This phenomenon has a negative effect in all regions of the Earth, but, more than others, the increase in temperature indicators affects the Arctic, whose ice begins to melt at an accelerated rate.
Scientists tried to imagine what could lead to their complete disappearance. A plus, in their opinion, will be a significant increase in the supply of fresh water on the planet, as well as the possibility of opening shipping routes directly across the pole.
But the disastrous consequences will have a much more visible effect. To begin with, many representatives of flora and fauna will disappear as a result of global changes in the ecosystem.
The influx of additional water masses will cause a sharp rise in the world ocean level. According to forecasts, no less than 70 meters. Residents of the cities located on its coasts will have to urgently evacuate. These include such megacities as Shanghai, Tokyo, New York and many others.
Not only cities will be flooded, but entire states located in North America, all island states and a huge part of China. As a result, every third inhabitant of the planet will lose a roof over his head. By posting the video on the network, scientists are trying to once again draw public attention to the problems associated with global warming.
