In this article, I will talk about the Prambanan complex. So, Prambanan is located on the island of Java, Indonesia and it is slightly different from other temples.
Prambanan is a complex of temples in the form of towers, each of which impresses with its appearance and size. It was discovered by the way, as usual, in the 19th century, supposedly by accident. I will not explain what this is for, regular readers will most likely understand.
The complex was built according to the official version from the end of the VIII to the middle of the IX century BC. It turns out that all this was created somewhere between 50-60 years, which is difficult for me to explain without the existence of high technologies.
As far as we know, time and nature have destroyed a lot, and on the territory of the complex you can see ruins and heaps of stones, which are not even clear what they used to be.
Only in these ruins you can see not particularly processed blocks, as if it was already built separately from the temples, at least it seems to me so. But whether this is really so is unknown.

There are 16 temples in total, the highest of which is 47 meters. Although they are all different, there are still many similarities, however, as in all of Asia, the architecture is the same plus or minus.
On the walls of each of the buildings, as always, there are many different bas-reliefs. There are also quite small objects similar to stupas, and they are located both at the base and to the very top.
There are several more statues on the territory of the complex, of sufficient quality processing. As far as we know, there are also statues inside the temples, but I never found any pictures. Maybe you just can't take pictures there, who knows.
In general, as usual, it seems to me that these are not even close to temples, but structures of some other purpose. Moreover, I saw not many temples in the form of towers in Asia, as a rule, they were not built like that.
It is worth noting that the symbols of Buddhism were added after the construction of the so-called temples. That once again only confirms the version of the other purpose of the structures.
To sum up, everything is the same impressive architecture as throughout Asia, but a rather unusual form of the buildings themselves. But who they belong to and what is their purpose is already difficult to answer, but I obviously do not believe in temples.
