One of the most insurmountable obstacles arising in the classification of megaliths according to their purpose is the almost complete lack of understanding by scientists, the fundamental laws of the emergence and evolution (deevolution) of Homo sapiens. The dogmas on which all science as a whole is based were formulated by Charles Darwin, and despite the fact that he himself shortly before his death recognized them as erroneous, they are still unshakable. And it is precisely this circumstance that is the most powerful brake on the development of science.
Why are you here, megalith?
Darwin decided that all species form over millions and billions of years to explain how the elephant emerged from the tadpole. Geologists took up this idea and announced that geological processes have been going on for billions of years. However, the existing experience suggests that the destruction of rocks and products from them occurs practically before our eyes. The invention of photography made it possible to compare the state of individual stones and mountain ranges now and a hundred years ago. We are clearly observing colossal changes that, according to geologists, should take millennia.
Even the assumption of the version that a person immediately appeared in the form in which he exists today is considered heresy. And arguments about the likelihood of the existence on Earth of other civilizations, more advanced than ours, are ridiculed, discredited, and even openly hidden or distorted. Anything that does not fit into the generally accepted versions of history is simply ignored by science. The unearthed artifacts are either buried again, or disappear in the storehouses of museums and repositories of scientific institutions. With this approach, the development of science is absolutely impossible, therefore it is not surprising that science calls all the existing megalithic structures:
- Cult buildings (dark savages had to pray to their gods);
- “Ancient observatories” (illiterate ancestors needed to know on what day to throw grain into the ground);

- Protective fortifications - fortresses, castles, walls, etc.;
- Tombs.
Attempts to suggest that all these objects could have a different, completely utilitarian purpose are a priori considered pseudoscientific only on the basis that Darwin de wrote in his brochure that man developed from a primitive animal to the "King of Nature". This is as unscientific as the claim that the ancients were unable to store food because they did not have refrigerators and canning factories.
For some reason, it never occurs to anyone that the ancestors of some of us really ran after antelopes with spears at the same time when the Pyramid of Cheops and the Golden Gate in Kiev already existed. After all, even today there are peoples to whom it is impossible to explain the purpose of the microwave oven, because they have not even heard anything about electricity?
Why is no one confused by the fact that in our time, sometimes completely simple, crude, like a Neanderthal-made objects and structures appear? There is such a curious case: - One of the hunters discovered on one of the Sakhalin hills an object that looked like a sword, with obvious traces of rough manual processing. We gave the stone sword to local historians, and it began … Sensation! The weapon of the Stone Age man! It all ended in a terrible scandal, from which the story was gradually hushed up and consigned to oblivion.
At the time when several theses were written on the topic of stone weapons of the ancient inhabitants of Sakhalin, archival documents of the nineteenth century surfaced from the office of the Sakhalin penal servitude. From the criminal case, it followed that a group of convicts tried to organize an attack on the guards, in order to make a subsequent escape from the place of imprisonment, and they tried to use homemade stone knives and swords as weapons. It's that simple!
The story is about the same with menhirs. Their purpose still remains a mystery to scientists, because they are fully confident that these are very ancient objects, in view of their obvious primitiveness. And they do not understand why a man dressed in animal skins would have to fence such strange walls from vertical stone slabs. It does not even occur to them that these are completely modern protective structures, which were used until the Great Patriotic War. It was only in the twentieth century that nadolbs were obstacles for tanks, and before that it was an effective defense against sudden attacks by cavalry, and an obstacle for the landing of marines in open areas of the coast. All! No need to break your head. Menhirs are primitive because they have very simple practical applications. No aesthetics. Fast,cheap and cheerful - these are the requirements for organizing defense with the help of improvised means.
But back to the ancient structures. Most of them are incorrectly classified as burial objects. Pyramids and dolmens are purely technical. The fact that our ancestors began to use them at their own discretion does not mean at all that initially the pyramids were built only in order to bury some Tsar in them. If people from a tribe living in the Amazonian wilderness begin to use the microwave that they donated as a chest for storing jewelry, this does not mean that the microwave was created in order to store necklaces made of glass beads and empty beer cans in it.
But, according to modern science, primitive people needed only entertainment and prayer. They didn't need to live somewhere, somewhere to keep cattle and tools, they didn't even need toilets, whatever … The main thing is to pray to some of the Gods. The assumption that the builders of "incomprehensible" structures used them as sources of energy, receiving-transmitting means of communication, immediately acquires the label of ignorance and obscurantism.
But don't we see with our own eyes that the opposite is true? Scientists look at Yonaguni like a ram at a new gate, and repeat like a spell: “This cannot be, because it cannot be at all. These are the freaks of nature”!
Yonaguni.
Brief information: - “Yonaguni Island (与 那 国 島 Yonaguni-jima) mdash; the westernmost territory of Japan. The island is located 125 kilometers off the east coast of Taiwan at the end of the Ryukkyu group of islands. The island has an area of 28.88 km² and a population of approximately 1,700 people. According to the administrative division, the island belongs to the Okinawa Prefecture. In 1985. divers have discovered a striking underwater rock formation at the southernmost point of the island. This so-called Yonaguni Monument has stair-like terraces with flat, straight sides and sharp corners. Because of these features, some scientists believe that this is an artificially created (or artificially processed) structure that is thousands of years old.
Opponents of the version of the artificial origin of the complex, arguably state that the Monument consists of sandstone and sedimentary rocks, the outcrops of which are still visible on the coast of the island. Under the influence of sea waves, rains and winds, they are destroyed in such a way that forms like steps and terraces appear. Nature is not capable of such "quirks", but here, in addition, the very structure of the deposits leads to the appearance of almost perfectly straight cracks. Moreover, at angles of 90 and 60 degrees to each other, which contributes to the formation of strict geometric shapes: rectangular steps, triangles and rhombuses.
But Japanese scientists put forward no less reasonable counter-arguments. Researcher Massaki Kimura, in favor of the artificial origin of the Yonaguni megalith, says the following facts:
1) Blocks, separated from the rock during the formation of the Monument, do not lie where they should have fallen under the influence of gravity and other natural forces. Instead, they often end up in one place, and sometimes they are not at all. If the structure were created by erosion, there would be quite a lot of debris on the bottom next to it, as is the case, say, on the modern shores of the island. But the Monument does not have such an abundance of debris at all.
2) Often, within a limited area of a monument, several elements of a completely different type turn out to be very close to each other, for example, a face with sharp edges, round holes of two meters deep, a stepped descent, a perfectly straight narrow trench. If the reason was only in natural erosion, then it would be logical to expect that it will manifest itself equally in the entire piece of rock. The fact that there are such different forms side by side is a strong argument for artificial origin.
3) In some upper sections, steeply descending to the south, there are deep symmetrical trenches, the formation of which cannot be explained at all by known natural processes.
4) On the south side of the monument there are steps that rise at regular intervals from a depth of 27 meters to the very top, located at a depth of 6 meters.
5) The western part of the monument is closed by a pronounced "wall", the presence of which is difficult to explain by the action of natural processes, since it is composed of limestone blocks, which are not typical for the Yonaguni zone.
The only thing left is to classify this complex. And, probably due to the fact that it does not lend itself to classification, science fell into a stupor. Obviously, this is not a burial ground, not a temple, not an amphitheater, or even an observatory. As soon as the blanks from the textbooks come to an end, the brain of scientists makes a slip and freezes. They had never seen anything like it in any reference book, and that was all. The collapse of thinking. It is not clear how scientists were generally able to discover and invent something. Earlier, in the textbooks nothing was written about power plants, steam locomotives and airplanes!
Nevertheless, there are plenty of clues around. This is what an abandoned quarry near Novosibirsk looks like:

Hundreds of similar tips are scattered around the world, but scientists do not even want to hear about it, because once one great thinker irrefutably proved that man was just an animal before, he did not know mathematics, and he opened cans with an obsidian knife.
It is easier for scientists to believe that it was aliens who mined building materials on earth. They are even ready to agree with the version about time travelers than with the obvious, in my opinion, fact: - Extraction of natural minerals on earth has been carried out on an industrial scale for a very long time. And of course, none of these were aliens. These were earthlings, perhaps our direct ancestors, or maybe they are our creators.
Were they giants? Maybe. The presence of a large number of giant-sized reptile remains suggests that when the Earth was half the size, and it had a different composition of the atmosphere and less gravity, the existence of terrestrial animals of enormous size was possible. Why couldn't intelligent people of the corresponding size exist?

However, 2015 has long been in the past, and documents confirming the existence of the remains of giants in the past have not appeared in the public domain. Most likely, reports of this kind should be treated with great caution and a healthy dose of skepticism. However, it would be unforgivable foolishness to completely reject it.
First of all, I believe, it is necessary to seek confirmation or refutation of the existence of a developed mining industry in the past. Only this does not mean at all that we should rush in search of prehistoric bulldozers and excavators.
It is highly likely that those who left behind these quarries and petrified dumps, which are now considered outlier rocks, did not need the equipment and tools to which we are accustomed.
We need to focus on the search for methods and ways of non-instrumental processing of stone and mining, as well as learn to separate the buildings themselves and the traces of mine workings from the traces left to us by our recent ancestors.
So the researchers of Yonaguni were perplexed by the finds of primitive tools made of stone, as well as mysterious inscriptions on the walls of the complex, and a bas-relief depicting an animal that looks like a bull (unfortunately, I could not find a photo of these artifacts in the public domain). You need to understand that when the Memorial was still on land, it was accessible to primitive people. Perhaps they still knew whose hands this creation was. Or maybe they appeared after the creators of these gigantic structures had already died out, or disappeared somewhere.
It doesn't matter where they went. The main thing is undeniable the fact that we and they could be different species, although existing at the same time. Cats now live next to humans, and it is possible that they will remain after us. And when they have written language and have their own scientists, who knows what theories they will build, studying the remains of our planes and locomotives. But if they become as intelligent as man today, then no doubt the traces of our civilization they will partially use for their needs. And already their descendants will puzzle over what appeared as a result of human activity, and what became the result of the activity of the first cats who realized the need to write history.
