On February 3, 1972, a snowball began to fall in Iran, which did not alert anyone - people rejoiced at the landscapes, gradually dressing in snow-white outfits. But, as life has shown, in vain. Soon, the quietly falling snowball turned into a violent blizzard. And if in large settlements they could fight the onslaught of the elements, then in small villages people just hid in their houses and began to wait for the end of the snowfall.
And it would have been necessary to run until the roads were skidded, and the power transmission and telephone lines stood intact … In six days, in some areas, the thickness of the snow reached eight meters! And, unfortunately, under it were residential buildings with people hiding in them. As a result, more than four thousand people died - this is the deadliest blizzard in history!
Someone died from the collapse of roofs that could not support the weight of the snow, and someone froze when the air temperature began to drop rapidly and reached minus 20 degrees Celsius …
