The Chechen State University reports the discovery of fossilized dinosaur eggs. “About forty were found,” says geologist Said-Emin Dzhabrailov. - The exact number has not been established. There may be even more of them underground."

The find was made during the construction of a road near the border with Georgia, which required blowing up a mountainside. Geologists happened to be there by chance. Smooth oval shapes, the diameter of which varies from 25 cm to one meter, opened up to the eyes of specialists!

Such large eggs have not yet come across to world science.

Mr. Dzhabrailov said that the local government is very eager to change the reputation of the region known for instability, rampant corruption, rampant crime and populist projects (lavish entertainment and sports events with the participation of world stars, and recently the construction of a ski resort was announced), and is considering the possibility of turning this area into a nature reserve with the subsequent attraction of tourists.

Indeed, in photographs and footage of state television channels, egg-shaped protrusions in the rock are striking. But paleontologists have not worked with them yet. Moreover, they doubt in advance that this is really what Chechen geologists have trumpeted to the whole world.

“Dinosaurs laid very small eggs,” emphasizes, for example, Valentina Nazarova of Moscow State University, recalling that there is no evidence of dinosaurs in the North Caucasus. According to her, they were not mountain animals and hardly jumped over rocks in search of a suitable place for a nest. “I am sincerely sorry, but I cannot go against science,” says Ms Nazarova. She believes that in order to attract tourists, it would be better to announce the find with eggs of the Rukh bird from Arabian tales.
