British scientists from the Experimental Institute in London concluded that the DNA of modern birds can be used to revive extinct dinosaur species.
As the scientist Adam Smith stated, the DNA of birds that live in our time stores part of the information about the life of their ancestors - dinosaurs. In his opinion, in 50 years the technology will reach such a level that even this information in the DNA will be enough to grow dinosaurs.
The researchers note that not only birds can be called the direct descendants of dinosaurs. Relatives of dinosaurs include crocodiles, turtles and Komodo monitor lizards.
Nevertheless, some of the scientists are convinced that it is impossible to grow dinosaurs based on bird DNA alone. And the likelihood that science will be able to do this even after 50 years is very low. In order to approach this level of research, it is necessary first to work out the cloning technology. And even if scientists manage to revive extinct animal species, this will only take place within the framework of laboratory research.
