Any citizen of Russia no older than 36 years old can get into the cosmonaut squad-2019.
Half of us dreamed of becoming astronauts in childhood. Never before has this stellar dream been so easy to achieve. From June 3, 2019, the state corporation "Roscosmos" and the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center are announcing recruitment to the cosmonaut corps. Any citizen of the Russian Federation no older than 36 years old can take part in the competition. It is clear that not everyone will be hired; based on the results of the competitive selection, the squad will get from 4 to 6 people.
Applicants must meet a variety of requirements. For example, have a higher education and work experience of 3 years or more in the following specialties:
- informatics and computer technology;
- electronics, radio engineering and communication systems;
- photonics, instrumentation, optical and biotechnical systems and technologies;
- electric and heat power engineering;
- nuclear energy and technology;

- nanotechnology and nanomaterials;
- mathematics and mechanics;
- physics and astronomy;

In addition, the lucky ones must demonstrate excellent athletic training. Here are just a few standards that they have to pass:
- In a 1 km run, you need to run for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Pull up on the bar 12 times.
- Shuttle run 10x10 m - you need to run out of 26.3 seconds.
- Swim 800m freestyle in less than 20 minutes 10 seconds, or breaststroke the same distance in 22 minutes 30 seconds.

The documents are sent by Russian post with notification to the address: 141160, Moscow Region, Star City, to the head of the Yuri Gagarin Research Institute of the CTC with a note “To the commission for the selection of cosmonaut candidates”
