In the town of Adams in Tennessee, there is a legend that says that in the summer of 1817, a wicked witch began terrorizing the Bell family living on a farm. She kept them awake at night, making strange, eerie noises, brutally beating family members, and even strangling John Bell. But during the four years that the witch Bell spent on the farm, she managed to commit one act completely unexpected for such a character - to save a child in a cave not far from the ill-fated house.
An old story says that a group of children playing on a farm discovered a 500-foot long karst cave. When they decided to study their find, one of the boys got stuck in a hole. In a panic, the child began to call for help, but no one heard him. Suddenly he heard someone shouting "I'll get him out!"
Invisible hands helped the child out of the trap. It is said that this voice belonged to the witch Bell, the same woman who killed John Bell and rattled the chains in the house during the darkest and most eerie hours of the night.
Having pulled the child out of the pit, the invisible witch told the children how to behave in the cave and disappeared again. According to most records, the cave served as a home for the witch when she was not torturing the family living on the farm. Even now, tourists who visit this place during excursions talk about the eerie atmosphere that prevails in this cave.

Despite the good deed that the witch allegedly did in the cave, visitors told about the strange phenomena they saw underground. This place is considered one of the scariest places on the famous haunted farm.
If you are not intimidated by the story of the witch Bell, but are curious to look at her abode, day tours are available from 10:00 to 17:00. Ticket: $ 12.00. Night excursions are also available by appointment. During the summer, the cave is open six days a week, except Tuesday. After Labor Day, the site receives visitors on weekends.
