For more than a decade, mysterious huge cats have been seen in Great Britain. People met with them and face to face and saw at a distance.

However, no real evidence has been found that leopards or lions escaped from private zoos are roaming the country.

As it turned out in each case, no one reported the loss of pets, and a big wild cat actually living in freedom would leave behind much more traces of its stay than a couple of paw prints, and several killed sheep.

Therefore, the mysterious British cats are increasingly called visitors from another dimension, or even ghosts.

Another case of a collision with a similar creature occurred in Cornwall, as reported by the local press.

According to 30-year-old Matthew Wilde, a huge cat, similar to a black panther, wanted to get into the house through the window and tried to attack him.

At this time, the man was visiting the house of his girlfriend in the city of Portlwen. Suddenly he heard a strange sound, and when he turned around, he was horrified to see a huge black cat, at least 6 feet long (180 cm), climb inside the house through a slightly open window. The sound was made by her large claws scratching the windowsill.

Despite the fear, Matthew was able to examine the animal and, according to him, it did not look like a real black panther, but some kind of cross between a panther and a domestic cat.

Fortunately, Matthew's instinct of self-preservation worked, he rushed to the window and began to close it, pushing the animal away. The cat hit him hard with a paw in response, and then growled loudly.

According to Matthew, he also defended not only himself, but also his girlfriend. And if he had not finally closed the window, the animal would probably have climbed into the house and tore them both to pieces.

After Matthew closed the window, he rushed to call the police. However, his call was not taken seriously there and even threatened with measures for a false call.

What happened to this animal next is unknown. Probably, like all such stories about mysterious British cats, it disappeared as strangely as it appeared, barely leaving any traces behind.

The mysterious big cats have reportedly been seen 55 times in the UK since 2011. Sixteen of these were identified as sightings of a lynx that escaped from the Dartmoor Zoo, but the rest were difficult to explain logically.

Most often, large felines in the UK are observed in Cornwall and Devon.
