According to the resource Spiegel, experts near Tubingen (Germany) found traces of an incredibly large tsunami, apparently caused by a meteorite. The catastrophe is indicated by the presence of a twenty-centimeter limestone layer. As a result of the disaster, a huge number of animals died 200 million years ago.

Near the village of Pfrondorf, in the rocks, the color of which changes from dark to bluish-black, experts find the remains of mollusks turned with the convex side up. This indicates that at one point the creatures were washed away by water, the wave height was more than 1000 meters and "covered" 1000 kilometers of land.

After the disaster, a layer of sand, silt and animal remains remained. If now the layer is only 20-30 cm, it means that before pressing its thickness was approximately one meter. Consequently, the catastrophe was caused by incredible force, possibly an earthquake. It is worth noting here that 200 million years ago the magnitude of the tremors reached 20 points, today the maximum is 9 points. There are no prerequisites for a recurrence of the disaster.

The earthquake, in turn, could have occurred due to a blow from space. A meteorite could fall between Iceland and North America. The fall of a cosmic body is indicated by the presence of chemical elements, for example, iridium.
