Several years ago, an unusual story took place in the Kazakh steppe. Oil workers were forced to curtail drilling due to what would later be called "environmental anomalies" in official reports.

A geologist named Zhalel contacted the editorial office of the Kazakh newspaper Express K, who told this strange story:

- Our private company received a contract for exploration and drilling works in the desert region, where the steppe borders on takyrs and dunes. We settled in a geological camp in comfortable wagons.

The devilry began the very next day. At night we woke up due to the fact that an SUV caught fire. It flared up instantly and burned out in minutes.

Soon rumors spread among us that this was a cursed place. The drillers heard an incomprehensible roar, reminiscent of the cry of a man, which came straight from the well. Then problems with drilling began: the equipment was out of order. People were tormented by nightmares.

It happened to me during the second shift. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't move. Something came close to my bed and then sat on my chest. I tried to scream, but I couldn't. Soon, geologists discovered ancient burial mounds near the deposit. What they initially took for hills turned out to be burials.

We brought an aksakal from a neighboring village, who read a prayer and offered to stop drilling - a sacred place here. The head of our company, in an order form, advised to throw all superstitions out of my head and even decided to stay here until the morning. And at night the minibus caught fire. He was standing in front of a surveillance camera, but watching the video showed that no one came close to the minivan.

According to Zhalela, his company fully completed the order. However, the official report indicated the presence of "environmental anomalies of unknown nature." Therefore, the customer of the exploration work decided not to start oil production here.
