The Church of Sweden has established new language rules to make the church more inclusive. The Church encourages clerics to use gender-neutral language and to refrain from terms such as "Lord" and "He."

Last year, Swedish lesbian bishop Eva Brun proposed removing crosses and Christian symbols from her church to make it more inclusive.

Breitbart.com provides details:

The Church of Sweden has voted to adopt a controversial new handbook that says male references to God such as "He" and "Lord" should be revised to be more "neutral."

Despite harsh criticism from organizations, including the Royal Swedish Academy, on Thursday the church approved the new handbook with an overwhelming majority.

The Church Handbook, which was last updated in 1986, describes how services, baptisms, weddings and funerals are to be conducted in the language of liturgy, theology and music, and is therefore central to the work of the church.

According to local media, many priests object to the instructions in the new language guide, which was added to make the church "more open."

This includes instructing the clergy to refer to God in a gender-neutral manner, without “unnecessarily” using the masculine pronoun “He” or terms such as “Lord”.
