Scientists have compared some items of modern electronics with ancient artifacts and concluded that the latest technology was created a long time ago. In particular, scientists consider the Antikythera mechanism, which is more than 2,000 years old, to be the first analogue of a computer.
Ancient computer
The Antikythera mechanism was found back in 1901, but fully explored only in the 21st century. It turned out that the ancient computer was much smarter than the modern one. With its help, it was possible to navigate the stars, as well as predict lunar phases, lunar eclipses and the position of the sun and moon over many years.

In addition, ancient people using this device made horoscopes and even predicted the future of a person according to the position of the planets for decades to come. "The device includes ingenious features that are not found in the modern world," the scientists note.
Ancient washing machine
Scientists also found a prototype of a modern washing machine, which was used by the inhabitants of ancient Antichonia in the 1st century AD. The device consisted of a large water wheel and a hammer, which first rose under the pressure of water and then descended, squeezing the fabric. However, this washing machine was very large, so scientists believe that it was used for industrial purposes.

Ancient bread maker
The first bakery, according to scientists, was created in 173 BC. ancient Roman Mark Virgil. He supplied almost all of Rome with bread. The baker was so proud of his work that he made himself a tomb in the form of a bread machine. There are bas-reliefs carved on the tomb that show the whole process of making bread, as well as the delivery of finished products to officials. However, scientists are baffled by the images of the cylinders in the center of the bas-relief. According to the researchers, they could serve as a kneading machine.
Ancient space agency
Scientists have also identified what could have been the forerunner of modern space agencies. The very first university in the world was the Baghdad House of Wisdom, founded in the 8th century by the legendary Caliph Harun al-Rashid. However, scholars of that time used the books of various cultures written many centuries ago. Because of this, there were discrepancies on many issues.
Then the caliph announced the creation of an astronomical observatory to establish the truth. Observatories were created earlier, but this one was supported by the state, therefore it was doomed to success. In this observatory, discoveries were made of the motion of the apogee of the solar orbit relative to the stars and the equinox points. The Baghdad astronomers were the first to question the immobility of the Earth.
These are far from all antiquities, which not only are not inferior to modern technologies, but in some ways even ahead of them. Maybe ancient people were not as primitive as we imagine them to be?
