Everyone knows the tale "Kolobok" since childhood. But what if we assume that her main characters - grandfather and grandmother - are not at all who they claim to be? We present to your attention an alternative version of Kolobok, in which the grandfather is engaged in black magic, and the grandmother is a master of voodoo techniques.
Let's turn to the original text to find hint clues that indicate how things really happened:
The old woman took a wing, scraped it along the box, swept it along the bottom of the barrel and scraped up two handfuls of flour …
… and also grabbed the earth from the grave of the deceased, the eggs of a thrush, the blood of a black rooster and a pinch of weed, which she had saved from Walpurgis Night. After waiting for the pre-dawn "hour of witches", when the stars go out and the night becomes pitch dark, the grandmother proceeded to an ancient ritual. But what did she want to do? "Spoil" the cow of your neighbor Masha in order to take away her milk? To damage the good fellow Ivan, who once looked askance in her direction? Oh no, everything was much worse!
Grandma and grandfather decided to call Satan himself into this world. This is clearly indicated by the spherical shape of the Kolobok, which resembles an apple. Once upon a time, the Tempter had already used this forbidden fruit to bring about the expulsion of people from Eden. Ancient Greek myths describe the "apple of discord" that caused the Trojan War. Now the grandmother is using a new "baked apple" (Kolobok) to bring Armageddon closer. But back to the original tale:
I kneaded the flour with sour cream, cooked a bun, fried it in oil and put it on the window to chill. The gingerbread man lay down, lay down, took it and rolled …
…Oh no! What happened, from what the Kolobok came to life? It's all about the old age of our sorcerers. The blind grandfather was supposed to bring the thrush eggs to the grandmother. But instead, he takes an egg hatched by a rooster - the one from which the terrible Basilisk serpent hatches. The rite was broken, as a result of which Kolobok regained consciousness and became such a kind of homunculus. Need proof? He moves (rolls), he talks and sings songs. And, apparently, he thinks!

But what happens next? And then our hero meets three totem animals in turn:
… The Kolobok is rolling along the road, the Hare is meeting him …
… The Kolobok is rolling, the Wolf is towards him …
… Gingerbread man is rolling, Bear is meeting him …
The Slavs endowed the hare with such qualities as cunning and luck. That is why it was believed that the amulet from the hare's paw brings unprecedented luck to its owner. The wolf as a totem symbolized destructive, dark power, as well as the desire for freedom and independence. The bear was revered as a forest deity with incredible power. There were special rituals designed to appease Potapych and protect a person from an accidental meeting with a bear in the forest.
But what about our hero? He easily deceives all three totem animals and leaves them! But how does he do it? Here we must remember that the grandfather and grandmother prepared Kolobok as a volt, a voodoo doll, into which Satan himself should move. And even though the ritual was never completed, it is obvious that Kolobok received part of the powers of the infernal essence. However, there are more powerful forces that prevented the coming of the Devil into this world:

The Red Fox figuratively symbolizes a flame that purifies fire. As any occultist knows, this element can destroy even the most powerful magical artifact. The hero of our fairy tale was no exception. But what happened to the grandfather and grandmother? History is silent about this, but if we turn to voodoo practices, we can make one assumption. When the evil spell induced by the sorcerer is dispelled, the sorcerer himself becomes their victim and takes the return blow. Or maybe it was even like this:
