The Canadian city of Windsor, Ontario, until recently was an unremarkable place on the map (no offense, Windsor). But eight years ago, the situation changed radically - now vans with TV people are drawn to Winsor, and local residents constantly appear in news and scientific and educational programs.
The fact is that in 2010, Noise appeared in Winsor. Moreover, he did not appear in the ears of one particular Winsor (which would lead to skepticism) - the presence of Noise is confirmed by the rest of the inhabitants of the city and the suburbs. In general, all 210 thousand people. Let's pretend to be a popular science program and ask the question - what is this noise?
"Imagine thunder," Mike Provost, a 64-year-old Winsor resident, told The Guardian, "now imagine the thunder does not stop for hours, if not days." But the most unpleasant thing is that one cannot hide from this mystical thunder, according to Mike, "the sound is everywhere." Some describe the Noise as the sound of an engine running, others as the sound of a stereo. But on one thing the inhabitants of Winsor agree completely: it is impossible to live in an atmosphere of constant thunder of unknown origin.
“You know, there are people who run away to some secluded place so as not to hear some sounds? So, over the past year, this thought has visited me more than once,”shared Sabrina Weiss on a closed Facebook page dedicated to Noise. Animals, by the way, are also not happy with Noise. They do not have a Facebook page and cannot be interviewed, however, they are unhappy. As soon as the Noise begins, the dogs bark, and the cats hide in the house.
Noise was especially active in the summer of 2012. Then 22 thousand people called the city service with a complaint about unbearable sounds coming from nowhere. The calls did not help, the noise did not stop. Now the situation has returned to normal: Noise occurs 2-3 times a week, mainly at night. In addition, recently scientists (of course, they were also interested in the sound anomaly) a version of the appearance of sounds.
Not far from Winson there is a closed facility - the industrial island of Zug, on which, in particular, the steel production facilities of the US Steel company are located. Researchers, and now residents alike, suspect the Noise is the result of tests conducted by US Steel. It is not yet possible to find out more precisely: the company has refused to cooperate with the people's investigation and is doing everything so that neither journalists nor scientists can get into the enterprises.
