In Los Angeles (USA), the medium Leela Yankovich, at the request of her relatives, summoned the spirit of Willis Debbes' grandfather, a murderer who was hanged many years ago. At first, things went well, everything was under control, but then … the evil spirit broke free, killed the medium and disappeared.
Subsequently, the doctor who examined Leela's body concluded that she had died of a heart attack, possibly caused by severe fright. But eyewitnesses who attended the session claimed that she died a violent death.
"It was the worst story imaginable," says Willis Debbes' stunned grandson, 41-year-old Garrett Ralp. “My brothers and sisters, six in all, sat around the table in Madame Jankovic’s salon, while she called again and again to the spirit of our grandfather to come and talk to us. We already thought that she would not succeed, since an hour passed, but there was no result. Then suddenly HE appeared right above the table …
I immediately realized that it was my grandfather - my mother often showed us his photographs. Willis looked terrible. His eyes burned with a red flame, he had unimaginably long claws, and his voice was gnashing and so disgusting that the blood froze in his veins. It sounds strange, but I know that his true appearance, his soul, should look like this - a kind of devil. Because he was a merciless devil during his lifetime."
The spirit of Willis Debbes, who was hanged in 1937 for cutting the throat not only of the owner of the house, but also of his wife and two ten-year-old daughters during a robbery, was apparently enraged that he was disturbed.
"He who disturbs the souls of the dead must die!" he shouted and plunged his disembodied claws right into Madame Jankovic's face. She screeched, shook and fell dead to the floor. Garrett Ralp and the others in the room rushed to the door, as they thought that they would be next in line, but the demon did not touch the relatives, only said: “Leave me alone. ONE! YOU ALL!" And then he disappeared as suddenly as he appeared.
Willis Debbes' grandchildren stated that they were trying to summon the spirit of their grandfather just to see what kind of person he was. It was the most common curiosity. Still, Willis was somewhat of a celebrity, at least the only one in the Debbes family. “We heard so many different stories about him that we really wanted to meet and talk to him.
Madame Jankovic was the most respected and experienced medium we could find, and we asked her to try and summon Willis's spirit to speak to him face to face. And that's how it all ended."

“The work of exorcists, mediums, and other specialists who summon beings from the other world is always fraught with danger. Open any book on magic, and you will see how much attention all authors pay to the means of protection and control over the summoned spirit. They do this because the issue of protection often becomes a matter of life and death of the medium himself or the people around him. But no matter how trained a specialist, he still, figuratively speaking, is dealing with a "pig in a poke".
Of course, Debbes did not sink his claws into Madame Jankovic's physical body, but inflicted a mortal wound on her delicate body, and it was from this that she died. A heart attack, apparently, has nothing to do with it … Let this incident serve as a lesson to everyone: both bored ordinary people, sticking their nose where they shouldn't, and indiscriminate psychics, ready to carry out any orders for money.
