In the last century, the area along the South Nahanni River in Canada was nicknamed "Valley of the Headless". This is due to the mysterious disappearances of people, the first of which happened back in 1898, during the famous "gold rush" - this area belonged to the famous Klondike.

A group of gold diggers, consisting of six people, disappeared in the valley without a trace. Seven years later, three more disappeared there - Robert Veer and his friends, the McLeod brothers.

Three years later, the bodies of all nine were found, but without their heads. They were identified by those elements that did not have time to rot - clothing, talismans, personal belongings.

From 1962 to 1965, two groups of researchers went to find out the circumstances of the mysterious deaths. Scientists were also found dead after a while - or rather, only bodies were found. The heads, as in the case of the previous nine victims of the cursed place, disappeared without a trace.

No matter how mystical the public was, the servants of the law who took up this business were sure that a gang of thugs was working in the valley, killing and robbing gold miners. In 1978, another expedition was sent in search of evidence, led by the researcher of anomalous phenomena Henk Mortimer.

These people were well equipped, they were constantly in touch with the help of special equipment.

On the evening of the first day, the operator heard the screams of the expedition members, after which the connection was interrupted. Within half an hour, a military helicopter hovered over the place where the camp was supposed to be located, but neither the tent nor the researchers were found at the designated place. Only five days later, people who continued to search for the missing expedition found the skeleton of one of the participants. Of course, without a head.

After this incident, the researchers left the Valley of the Headless for a long time. There were undoubtedly isolated cases - people continued to disappear singly or in pairs until 1980, when three former military personnel were sent there under a contract for a month, none of whom returned after the indicated period.

Only in 2004, an international expedition was again sent there, equipped with modern video equipment and several armored vehicles at its disposal. But this did not save the scientists - after one of the messages from their radio operator, the connection was unexpectedly interrupted, and the thick fog that enveloped the valley did not allow the military to immediately go in search. When the fog cleared, not a trace of the camp remained in the valley.

Old-timers of the Indian village living along the South Nahanni River are sure that co-squats, a local analogue of Bigfoot, are associated with the disappearances of people in the valley. In different years, completely different people found traces of this creature, and some even saw him.

And in the two thousandth, a group of climbers were lucky to meet this creature twice and remain unharmed. He is described as tall, about two meters in height, and covered with short black hair. He moves extremely quickly, despite his disproportionately short legs.

However, no photographs or other physical evidence of the existence of this monster has yet been provided.

The local police did not confirm the version about the gang, allegedly operating in the valley and killing gold miners for the precious metal they mined. Nobody among the locals noticed strangers, which means that there was no one to do this.

But some people believe that in the Valley of the Headless is a kind of tunnel into a parallel reality inhabited by entities of a nature different from us. It is they who sometimes take people to themselves, and then return them as unnecessary.
