This week, a group of archaeologists who worked in the Chelyabinsk region, while excavating the graves of nomadic tribes, found a strangely shaped female skull. The exact data on gender and age will be known after the study.
Together with the skeleton, they found in the grave a knife, a spindle made of ceramics, small beads and parts of dishes, also ceramic. The beads lay in a row relative to the hands. This means that they, most likely, were part of the clothing, or were some kind of decoration.
The skull found was oblong, exactly like that of the woman discovered last year. Then she was nicknamed the alien, but the exact adventure was never found out.
The new find is no less interesting and mysterious. It is believed that the woman belonged to the Sarmatians. As a consequence, the lady lived about 1800 years ago.
The mound itself, where the remains were buried, is not high. It was no more than thirty centimeters high. In addition to the skull, the researchers found a jug with an ornament, but unfortunately it was not possible to restore it.
During this month, archaeologists want to excavate a second mound - the highest available. Ancient dishes and traces of bonfires have been repeatedly found there.
