Many residents of Yakutsk know this place - the third kilometer of the Magansky tract, not far from the city. To the left of the road is the Maganskoye Cemetery, to the right is the Professional Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The center is based on the site of the long-disbanded Soviet air defense unit. But hardly many people paid attention to the amazing natural anomaly existing here.
Once this military unit was heavily guarded. On the outskirts of the base in the forest, there were warning shields: “Stop! Protected area "," Passage prohibited! We shoot without warning! " After the military left the area, the shields were removed.
It is known that some, probably not secret, electronic equipment and air defense equipment were drowned nearby in the waters of the lake. In addition, behind the educational buildings there is a training ground, a shooting range, where, when the military left, several underground bunkers of unknown purpose and classrooms were poured with cement. Thus, no hints of the activities of this military unit have survived.
Evil forest dwarfs
Avid Yakut mushroom pickers know these places as the most productive. Here, approximately within a radius of 500-800 meters from the fence of the former military unit, in a short time you can quickly pick up mushrooms, boletus, boletus, boletus … Mushrooms grow in abundance on the abandoned territory. However, this is not surprising - after all, the taiga. What is surprising is the abnormally twisted trees. There are especially many such "freaks" on the right side of the road leading to the military unit.

It must be admitted that trees with abnormalities in the taiga can be seen: several trees growing from one trunk; curved in vertical or horizontal spirals; trunks bent at different angles at different heights … This will surprise no one. However, there are usually single specimens, and here there is a large number of "freaks" in a small area.
On the third kilometer of the Magan tract, within a radius of about 500-600 meters, there is a fair amount of such anomalous pines: the author easily took 45 photographs of mutant trees, and sometimes four curved trunks inadvertently fell into the focus of the device. There are also a couple of unnaturally curved birches. Moreover, trees with anomalies do not need to be specifically looked for.
You just need to get up and take a good look around. Within sight there is everything: both trunks intertwined with each other, and bent at right angles (L-shaped), as well as twisted in vertical and horizontal spirals.
And how many ugly growths are there on straight trunks! Well, a S- and C-shaped, "crawling" on the ground - and not count. The trees, mutilated by an unknown force, seem to be evil monsters. By the way, all plants here are undersized, with a sparse crown, and rotting.
Victims of the mysterious radiation?
Despite the fact that this place is extremely littered with vacationers and mushroom pickers, here, oddly enough, mushrooms and berries grow in abundance, woodpeckers, squirrels, chipmunks are found, traces of capercaillie and roe deer are seen. This means that this place does not pose any danger for animals. Why is it here that the trees are so strange? Is it dangerous for a person to be here? And by the way, is there a connection between the mutation of trees and the occupation of the former military unit? Experts must answer these questions.
One can only assume that this area of the forest was once subjected to a directed effect of strong electromagnetic or some other type of radiation, or hazardous waste was dumped here. The latter has a high degree of probability: there is a forest dirt road hidden from prying eyes, along which special vehicles transporting waste may well pass.
Disappearing "drop"
An interesting moment: when the author took a picture of the L-shaped trunk of one pine tree, a drop-shaped, defocused dark structure appeared on the screen of a digital camera, which was rapidly decreasing in size. Moreover, "live", by eye, this structure was not visible. We managed to take two pictures: when the structure was reduced by about half and before it disappeared. By the way, she disappeared in a rather strange way - as if she had merged into a pine branch.
This fact could be attributed to a malfunction of the camera. However, let's try to explain it differently. Any digital device with a built-in video camera, in addition to the visible spectrum, records radiation invisible to the human eye - for example, infrared. This can be visually verified by aiming the camera's eye at the emitter of the TV remote control. On the screen, the emission of light can be observed with the naked eye and photographed.
Probably, approximately the same thing happened in the forest - a burst of unknown radiation fell within the visibility of the camera lens.
The work of human hands?
The Kaliningrad recreation park has a zone with "dancing" trees. There are pine trees with trunks bent into rings and arcs. But there is a common sign of man-madeness for all these trees - all the trunks are bent closer to the ground. Such an anomaly can be forcibly constructed from young shoots. Over the years, the trunk continues to grow upward. The foliage does not thin out, the bark has a healthy color, there is no feeling of ugliness.
In Yakutsk, trees with anomalies have an ugly appearance, curved trunks and branches are located at different heights. A feeling of anxiety arises next to them. The branches are thin, the crowns are not rich, the bark is clearly sick and unhealthy in color.
And the last thing: when comparing photographs of anomalous pines of the Chernobyl zone with those of Yakut, there is a strong feeling that they are similar.
