In the United States, all the Missouri state media were looking for a mysterious priest: he suddenly appeared at the scene of an accident in which a 19-year-old girl was trapped in a car, prayed for her and the rescuers, promised that she would survive, and disappeared.

The mystics adds a number of facts: for some reason he is not in the photographs from the scene of the emergency; the highway on which the head-on collision occurred was closed to traffic; and eyewitnesses claim that the "black angel" looked like a Hollywood actor who died 13 years ago. The girl, who for more than an hour could not be pulled out of the crushed car, survived.

The accident happened on the N19 highway in Missouri: Mercedes Katie Lenz collided head-on with a car that flew into the oncoming lane. At the wheel was 26-year-old Aaron Smith, as it turned out later - drunk. It happened far from settlements, and rescuers tried in vain to pull out the victim without powerful tools.

Attempts to get Lenz out of the car continued for about an hour and a half. All is in vain. “An old Mercedes is a well-made car, and when one gets into an accident it is very difficult to get passengers out of it, since more than one layer of metal has to be cut through,” explained firefighter Raymond Reid, who worked on the scene.

Katie was conscious all this time and at some point loudly asked everyone to pray with her. At that moment the priest appeared. At the same time, the highway was closed, and for a quarter of a mile in both directions, there seemed to be no strangers. “He approached and prayed … a Catholic priest, he had oil with him … She (Lenz) calmed down, and so did we … I can't remember the exact words, but my friend and I realized that we should calm down, that our instruments would work and we can get her out this time."

Further versions diverge: KHQA reports that the rescuers tried to cut the metal again, and everything worked out. After a prayer, a car from the nearest town with heavy equipment finally arrived at the scene of the emergency, which helped the rescuers.

The local edition of The Blaze phoned all the nearby churches in search of a priest, and even made a composite sketch

The priest, meanwhile, had disappeared as imperceptibly as he had appeared. “We would like to find this gentleman and thank him,” says firefighter Reed. "We've been looking for him ever since, but nobody has seen him." The local newspaper The Blaze phoned all nearby churches in search of a priest and even made a composite sketch. Eyewitnesses from the scene of the accident claim that he looked like Hollywood actor Walter Mattau, who died in 2000. His last film, which he starred in shortly before his death, was called Hanging Up.

On the video filmed at the site of the emergency, it is clear that there is no special place to hide there: around the fields.

Lenz was hospitalized with multiple fractures, her life is out of danger. Drunk driver Aaaron Smith, who crashed into her car, did not survive.
