Buzz Aldrin, the second astronaut to land on the moon, said the first colonies could appear on Mars as early as 2040.
He said that this planet has enormous potential for colonization, although its atmosphere is toxic. Aldrin believes that the world should begin preparations for the establishment of the first colonies on the red planet.
Now science has risen to such a level that humanity can explore the vastness of the Cosmos, and the first task in this direction should be exactly the colonization of Mars, but the astronaut is sure that earthlings will never stop at this.
Earlier it was reported that scientists have created virtual travel to Mars. They carried out this project using collected videos and photographs from Mars exploration. This program is very similar to Google Earth, but for Mars.
The project displays 90% of the planet's surface, everyone can view its vastness on the Internet.
For the future, it is planned to create such maps of all the corners of the Universe known to us.
