Why has no one yet solved the secret of the dungeon where people disappeared?
Probably, every, even the smallest, settlement in Russia has its own amazing story. But there are hardly more than a dozen places in our country where you can find stories for almost every taste. Such rare settlements include Aksai. Griboyedov, Lermontov, Tolstoy, Tchaikovsky, Pushkin have been here. And Samuil Marshak even participated in the formation of the local museum complex. Here the Miraculous Image of the Mother of God Hodegetria was found. And, according to the testimony of many eyewitnesses, it was here that UFOs flew. More than one film has been shot about Aksai, historians and adventure lovers often come here not for the faint of heart. This is how amazing and mysterious he is - our Aksai, a small town in the Rostov region.
In this material I have collected several legends about the Aksai dungeons. It is difficult to judge how true they are, but from my own experience I can say that a person who goes down there experiences not pleasant sensations.
The Aksai underground is a unique system of underground passages, organized at the beginning of our era by the inhabitants of the ancient Kobyakov settlement. Over the years, the catacombs grew and eventually turned into a large underground city. They say that people who went down there often saw the queen of the underworld - the ghost of a woman in white robes and a corset. The stranger's face is covered with thick black hair. She walks through the walls and examines the property in a businesslike manner - has an uninvited guest wandered over to her? Who is this lady - there is no consensus. According to one of the mystical assumptions, she is the keeper of the ancient treasures, on the other, she is an innocently murdered girl, whose soul has never found peace.
Or maybe a mysterious woman - a victim of the local murderer Efim Kolupaev? According to legend, two centuries ago, a rather strange person appeared in Aksai, then a small provincial settlement. He called himself a merchant, shook the vale with money, but at the same time behaved rather suspiciously. He settled by the river and invited rich travelers to his house to stay, who then mysteriously disappeared. As it turned out later, Efim Kolupaev killed the visiting rich, took money and jewelry, and threw the bodies through the hole into the river. The murderer buried the stolen goods in the same area where he got rid of his victims. But where exactly, nobody knows.
It was also rumored that Efim Kolupaev was a member of the secret Masonic order of the Jesuits and came to Aksai for a reason: he had to find something in the local catacombs. Something more important than treasure. Efim hired large groups of diggers, studied the area and spent countless sums on it. Nothing is known about the result of the search, but about what he was looking for, an interesting version has already emerged in our time: in the ancient books of Jesuit Masons there are records that the land near Aksai is somehow connected with a certain shrine. Which one? Again a riddle.
Probably, our labyrinths would remain fabulously mystical, if in the middle of the last century the military did not pay close attention to them. Confirmation of this is the bunker, in which excursions are held today. It was built in case of nuclear war - exercises were held there.
It is no less surprising that initially, for their needs, the military planned to use not Mukhina gully (this is where the underground headquarters is located), but the ancient catacombs of the Kobyak settlement. But the tragedy put an end to this plan. One of the soldiers who was sent to investigate the underground passage did not return to the surface. Two more soldiers were sent in search of him. And again - the loss. After thorough preparation, a specially prepared group descended to look for the three disappeared. The missing were found. Rather, they found what was left of them - the lower parts of the bodies. Moreover, they were separated by something unrealistically sharp, and the cut itself was so accurate, as if the soldier had been cut by the thinnest blade in a split second. The same thing happened with the walkie-talkies - the cut on them was so precise that not even a single crack was found in the microcircuits. Since there was no explanation for this fact,the case was classified, and the hole was walled up.

But the Aksai catacombs attracted mystery lovers. And soon another victim appeared - local researcher Oleg Burlakov. His murder followed the same scenario. This time, however, both the lower and upper body were found. For some reason, only bones remained from the top.
As an explanation for this anomaly, the diggers put forward a version of ancient traps. But how did our ancestors build weapons of such precision and, most importantly, for what? Another mystery of the Aksai anomalies.
There is another legend - the local Serpent Gorynych, which lives in the catacombs. According to ancient sources, the inhabitants of the Kobyakov settlement made human sacrifices to some underground dragon. Moreover, they say that this lizard was seen not so long ago - an underground hole was opened in the basement of a warehouse of a local factory. When the watchmen with the dogs looked there, there was no limit to horror. A deafening roar was heard from the darkness, and a huge body slid into the depths of the cave. The watchmen with the dogs barely carried away their legs, and the next day the passage was walled up.
But they say that this snake can be not only underground, but also underwater. According to ufologists, there is an underground lake at a depth of about 40 meters under Aksai, and the sea is splashing at a depth of 250 meters. Another river also flows under the Don bed, on the banks of which the town is located. It is no coincidence that cars and trailers that fell several times from the old Aksai bridge disappeared without a trace. Instead of the missing transport, the divers found a bottomless funnel in the riverbed of the Don, where the water draws its prey with monstrous force.
Why are so many amazing stories connected with Aksai? The answer to this question has not yet been found. One thing is clear that since such an amazing place is nearby, you need to go there: walk along the shady provincial streets, visit museums where people who are in love with the history of their city work, and listen to these and other legends firsthand. Believe me, this is very interesting …
