On the night when the whole country watched the final of the Ice Hockey World Championship between Russia and Canada with sinking, inexplicable events were happening in the sky over Volgograd. Now on the Internet, eyewitnesses are vigorously discussing what it could be.
- We saw this picture from Kilyakovka in Volzhsky. Immediately after the victory, our guys went out onto the veranda and saw a bright fireball moving in the sky from west to east at high speed. A tail-tail stretched behind him, made of burning elements, like sparks, - says Gennady Golubev, associate professor of the Volga Humanitarian Institute.
The balloon flew at high speed and very high. It was possible to observe the spectacle for one minute, then the ball disappeared from sight. He was seen in different parts of the city - someone from Metallurgov Avenue, someone from the center, someone from Spartanovka. Volgograd residents are perplexed what it could be - for an airplane the speed is too high, for a meteorite - too small …
- And I saw him from the balcony. It was about 20 minutes past twelve. He flew from Volgograd towards Kapustin Yar. Lost in the area of an abrasive plant in Volzhsky. I tried to film it, but it didn’t work - it would be too high,”our reader Andrey Deryagin told. - A friend said that he had time to examine it through binoculars, I that it was not one big ball, but many small burning sparks. In shape, it resembled a puck, we also decided that it was symbolic. We won the world championship after all!
- I got a call at night. I also watched hockey, but, unfortunately, I myself did not have time to see the fireball. But judging by the descriptions, this is most likely not a UFO, but the so-called space debris. Our satellites are walking in this direction, perhaps it was some waste part or a powerful comet that was burned up,”said Gennady BELIMOV, the chief ufologist of Volgograd. - By the way, earlier there was information that on that night the third stage of the "Union" left orbit, at a point in the direction of Kharkov-Saratov. Perhaps this has to do with a UFO over Volgograd.
