Video: Scientists Confirm the Oak Island Mystery Is Solved (2020) 2024, July
Anonim

For 220 years, treasure hunters have been trying to find this amazing treasure, but they just can't get to it. And this despite the fact that many are well aware of its location. Probably not for nothing that the treasure was called cursed?

Oak Island, with an area of 57 hectares, is located off the western coast of Canada. Its name is translated from English as "oak". The island became famous for the treasure buried on its territory, which no one can find for over two hundred years. This story began in the summer of 1795. Three teenagers from the city of Chester decided to try on the role of pirates. With this unusual purpose, they rushed to Oak Island.

Dig under the big oak

During the game, the teenagers found themselves in a very unusual place. They thought that this was where the real treasure might have been hidden. A detached oak tree immediately caught their eye - on its chopped off branch there was a ship block, from which a piece of rope stretched down. On the ground opposite the block, a certain depression was clearly visible. Something similar is obtained when settling the earth during its backfill after preliminary excavation.

Young people did not even doubt that the treasure was buried right here! Taking a couple of shovels and a strong pick, they were in a hurry the next day in search of alluring treasures. Having removed the top fertile layer of the earth, they noticed a row of stone slabs. A few minutes later the slabs were dismantled, but here the seekers were disappointed. They stumbled upon an abandoned mine in which several shovels and picks were found.

Yet the treasure hunters were not going to give up so easily. Once again, they enthusiastically set about searching for treasures. In the shaft of the mine (it was later called money) there were platforms made of logs, half covered with soil. Somewhere at a depth of about 9 meters, constantly rolling heavy logs, the guys realized that they could not cope with the work on their own. It remained only to disguise the excavations and return for treasures with assistants.

The chest went to the bottom

The search for the mysterious treasure continued only eight years later. The matured treasure hunters took a former sailor to help, and the work began to boil with a vengeance. At a depth of about 18 meters, the seekers stumbled upon a layer of fiber obtained from coconuts. This discovery aroused their particular enthusiasm. In those latitudes, coconut palms did not grow, therefore, the fiber was brought with them by people who buried the treasure.

A flat stone with some kind of mysterious inscription was discovered at a depth of over 27 meters. Unfortunately, it was not possible to decipher the inscription. Then the shaft suddenly began to fill with water. The seekers tried to probe the dirt at the bottom of the mine with their poles. At the bottom, something resembling a chest was found in shape and size. By the evening, the treasure hunters got tired of the order and decided to continue working the next day.

Unfortunately, the mine filled with water overnight, which could not be pumped out with all the desire. Where did the water come from? After lengthy mining and scientific research, it was possible to find out that the mine was a complex hydraulic system. Several tunnels led to it, through which water was supplied, which made the treasure inaccessible.

It took several years to close the tunnels. Judging by the diaries, this restless four managed to get some kind of oak barrel from the bottom of the mine. What was in the barrel? This remained a mystery. There were no official statements about the find, and the treasure hunters themselves disappeared.

True, they write that one of them was still found in London. He became the owner of vast lands in England and Canada. His son bought jewelry worth 200 thousand dollars for his wife. How did he get rich? Who knows, maybe the contents of the found barrel somehow helped.

Hand in camera lens

Did you manage to find the treasures in the barrel recovered from the mine? Alas, this has remained unknown. But excavations in the mine on Oak Island did not stop after that. The followers of the treasure hunters believed that no one would carry out such grandiose work with just one barrel.

Naturally, the search for treasures on the island was periodically renewed and carried out with extraordinary enthusiasm. David Tobias and Daniel Blankenship have opened a new page in this high-profile case. So that none of the competitors could stop them, Blankenship bought a significant part of the island in 1967.

According to the information received, Daniel and David decided to drill north of the mine. In the underground cavity, which was completely filled with water, at a depth of over 65 meters, the drill hit the rock base.

With the help of the camera lowered into the well, the treasure hunters were able to make out something resembling a chest and … a severed human hand. After a while, the partners had financial difficulties, they quarreled and began to sue. The litigation continued until 2000.

It is even impossible to count how many people have gone broke in two centuries of incessant treasure hunt. Moreover, six people became victims of the "devil's place". Nevertheless, enthusiasts are ready to search for Oak's treasure, even if he is cursed.

Why are the treasures not given into the hands, and who buried them? Perhaps the "pirate" version is the most popular. According to this assumption, the owner of the wealth could be one of the famous pirates - William Kidd, Francis Drake, Edward Teach, or Henry Morgan. There is an alternative assumption that the cache belongs to the Templars - the predecessors of the Freemasons.
