For many years now, the mysteries of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) haunt scientists in various fields of science and simply curious ordinary people. Periodically, new evidence appears about the observation of unusual figures in the sky and even about contacts with creatures supposedly arrived from other planets. UFOs, in fact, often turn out to be weather balloons, satellites or airplanes, but individual cases make us think, as what they see is beyond our knowledge.

Incident in Manitoba

In 1967, many UFO incidents were recorded around the world, several of which occurred in Canada.

In May, an unidentified object was seen by amateur geologist Stefan Michalak. In the Canadian province of Manitoba, there is Falcon Lake (Falcon Lake). While exploring its coast for interesting geological finds, Stefan suddenly noticed 2 moving objects in the sky. He did not attach much importance to what he saw, but out of curiosity he sketched one of the vehicles when it landed near the observer.

While in the air, the object changed colors from gray to red-orange. Upon landing, it acquired a blinding golden glow. The UFO was disc-shaped, reaching 12 m in diameter. Its surface was very smooth, without seams, and seemed polished.

Out of curiosity, Stefan approached the object and saw an entrance inside, from which a bright light emanated. Hearing voices similar to human beings, the geologist tried to speak to those inside, but received no answer. The voices fell silent and the entrance closed.

Stefan touched his gloved hand to the surface of the apparatus and immediately pulled it back - the wall was so hot that the glove material began to melt.

In a few moments, the "ship" turned around, releasing jets of hot air, and rose into the air. Having gained altitude, the device disappeared into the distance. The man's clothes caught fire from the scorching exhaust, he quickly took off his shirt, but there were lattice-shaped burns on his skin.

He had a headache and bouts of nausea. The Canadian went to the clinic, where he was diagnosed with radiation sickness. Subsequently, Stefan was followed up for two years by Canadian and American doctors who examined his condition.

In memory of this event, a coin was issued with the image of a UFO over the lake and a person watching its flight.

Incident at Shag Harbor

Five months later, another unusual event took place in another province of Canada, Nova Scotia.

Residents of the fishing village of Shag Harbor said that a bright glow appeared in the sky, which then went out, then flared up again. Suddenly the lights disappeared and a growing whistling sound was heard. Soon the fishermen heard a loud explosion. Other eyewitnesses claimed to have seen a large circular object fly across the sky and crash into the Gulf of Maine.

Several military and civilian groups subsequently examined the ocean floor at the alleged crash site, but found nothing.

A UFO Research Center was opened in Shag Harbor Village, and residents have held festivals since then to commemorate the events of 1967.
