14-year-old Shahar Head can rightfully be considered the strongest schoolgirl in Great Britain. Surprisingly, she took up powerlifting only a year and a half ago
Now Shahar can lift on his shoulders a weight approximately equal to the weight of her two teachers. Nobody expected such sports success from an ordinary girl. She was born prematurely three months earlier than normal and suffered from poor health for a long time.
Shahar intends to compete in the upcoming 2016 Olympics. The decision came to her after conquering four world records and the title of European champion in her age group. But in the future, she wants to become a physical therapist.
At birth, Shahar weighed only about 400 grams and spent three weeks in a special cell for premature babies. She was diagnosed with Crohn's disease (severe inflammation of the intestines) and recovered with difficulty. Mother Shahar calls her a miracle child and is very proud of her achievements.
18 months ago, Shahar went to a sports club to strengthen her arms a little for muscle tone. This resulted in serious powerlifting and competition victories, following one after another. The school where the girl is now studying is also very proud of the success of her student.
