In the province of Guizhou in China, a mushroom the size of an umbrella was found. A huge wild-growing lingzhi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) was found in a high-mountainous region, its weight is 4.2 kg, and its diameter reaches 80 cm! According to local resident Zheng Lanfei, in all 75 years of her life she has never seen such a large lingzhi, although she heard about the existence of such "mushroom giants" from older people.

This mushroom has been known in Chinese medicine for over 2000 years. Both in China and in Japan, it is used for almost all diseases, but especially for heart disease, memory impairment and to increase overall tone, fill with vitality and rejuvenation. For each purpose of use, there is a recipe - a method of preparation of the infusion and dosage. Lingzhi grows on old decaying trees and is believed to literally "absorb" their energy left after the decaying tree. The roots of the fungus, meanwhile, reach the ground, absorbing nutrients.

It is worth noting that the wild lingzhi mushroom was difficult to find hundreds of years ago - it was available mainly to court doctors and the aristocracy. Under some emperors, decrees were issued on the surrender of all found mushrooms to the court. Due to its rarity and high demand, since the 1970s, it has been grown in myceliums, using stumps, parts of fruit trees, old tree trunks, sawdust and fibers of various species.
